Ahh, Civ3.

In fairness, for the Vet Samurai to actually beat a tank they generally had to be defending a well developed city. That said, when they WERE defending a well developed city that Vet Samurai unit could often stall entire armies...
In RL a Samurai who knew what he was doing was not to be trifled with. From what I've read a large percentage of the "up close and personal" deaths during the Warring States period were the result of a single sword strike which went from the victims left shoulder to right hip.

I can't tell if this is supposed to be funny, sad, or both.

Sorry, not sure what I'm looking at here? I know attention to detail and precise procedure can make the difference between life and death in that role, but that doesn't tell me much about what this trainee specifically did wrong.

He set his rifle on the ground, butt first, and then leaned it against his crotch so that the barrel was pointed at himself. Then he took out his pistol and is either loading or unloading it while holding it by the barrel, with said barrel aimed at his stomach.

The most basic of gun safety, the very first rule anyone will tell you when you're just starting out, is never point the gun at yourself or anybody else you don't want to get shot. This idiot managed to point two of his guns at himself, at the same time.

Thanks. Couldn't make out what his items were very well, but started to recognize them, as soon as you pointed them out.

In which case, he deserves everything that's coming to him. Hope he likes ear-splitting, PT Hell!

Fixed. ;) And she's doing it in front of officers while the NCO who probably trained her is basically forced to watch this unfold.

To be fair, look at the patch on her sleeve. ;) The look on the general's face and the sergeant's face are priceless, though.

It's amazing ow many layers there are there. I actually missed the butter bar on her helmet and just assumed she was some guardsman who was fresh out of boot doing her first monthly drill or something like that. The pistol makes more sense if she's an officer (I mean the fact she has one).
