If you are a citizen you have obligations of a citizen, even if you live abroad. Even western countries could be very anal about it, back when they still used conscription, with double citizens being liable to conscription in both countries, although at least in Europe there was treaty that one military service was enough, so in my third platoon there was one guy with rather poor knowledge of the language, who was there only because our conscription service was couple months shorter than German service.

There is also French film (i can't remember he title) where some guy flees to the land of his ancestors (Algeria or Morrocco) to escape the French conscription, gets conscripted into much harsher army, eventually deserts and escapes to France, last scene being hes dejected face as he starts the basic training in the French army, probably thinking how he would be already done with it if he wasn't such a dumbass 😂

Dude you have no idea how many of my conservative friends. I've had to explain the legitimate(pandemic in this case) function of the state. I almost feel like a leftist because they don't understand what's going on.
Oh, even as a libertarian, I get there is legitimate reason for the state to do a lot. But the fear is that the expanded powers of the state will not contract afterwards. Hungary is the biggest fear, because there is no way Dictator Orban is giving up power.
