There is also sabotage and desperate anti-Bolsonaro action in the Election people themselves. They have blocked him from using Independence Day parade footagee in his campaign and now want to block UN footage as well. Of course that only applies to ads and people can still tell other to look it up but shows the desperation.

Elections will happen on October 2nd. Then there will likely be another election a month later as the tiebreaker for governors and president if a 50.1% vote isn't achieved on the first run.

At the moment I am more interested in trying to choose my vote for governors and deputies, cause the presidential vote is pretty much locked.

Hard to say; I think people will care once the economy starts shrinking noticeably(by the 2040s is my guess), and they probably will see immigrants as competition.

Lula's campaign team(and their allies, mainly in the big media organizations - especially Globo) has been trying to overstate support for Lula(and downplay support for Bolsonaro) since the first semester of this year, in order to try to get the so called 'useful vote'('only Lula is capable of facing Bolsonaro' or 'Bolsonaro loses to every other candidate in the second round, why not vote for someone else with better chances to winning over Lula?') - this plays a big part on the Datafolha/IPEC poll results. The crowds of Bolsonaro supporters on the Bicentennial of the Independence crushed that narrative, though.

Now Lula's campaign is worried about losing votes to Ciro Gomes, which is presenting himself as a better candidate to face Bolsonaro. Lula's pitiful showing on the TV debates and interviews also did him no favours - Lula only did OK on the Globo interview, where the interviewers unashamedly kissed his ass the entire interview - everywhere else, he crumpled like wet tissue whenever people didn't accept his bullshit.
Good evening @gral. Any new crazy developments in the 2022 Brazilian Presidential election ?

Have there been debates scheduled between Bolsonaro & Lula yet ? 🤔

Globo will have a debate in which Lula said he will go to. Bolsonaro probably will, since his policy in this campaign is to go for maximum exposure(seems to be working).

As for crazy developments, yesterday's debate on SBT gave us a new meme candidate, but that doesn't really change anything.

Gonna be a very interesting televised debate.

Your predictions for tomorrow's election?

I have heard some people talk about a 1st round win for president, but that is wishful thinking IMO. Lula won that in his first try in 2002 but he had a clean rep and the backing of a millionaire campaign, it's completely ludicrous to think he will repeat that after these 20 years.

A 1st round win for Bolsonaro is more likely, but only in comparison.

It will go to a second turn, and Bolsonaro will likely win. The entire campaign against him boils down to "he mean and unpresidential" which doesn't stick with most of the silent majority. The criticisms of him fall flat due to coming from the likes of Lula and Alckmin.

Don't be so sure, a LOT of them are really slimy bastards.

Also absolutely hilarious to see the "trustworthy pollsters" talking about a Lula 1st turn as if it was anything other than a pie in the sky dream. Some are unironically claiming it is possible.
