Respawn Entertainments Titanfall and Apex Legends games have been targeted by hackers who want Respawn Entertainment to fix Titanfall after weeks and months of issues with the games that have gone unresolved by Respawn Entertainment.

Recently Respawn's Community Manager revealed that they are working on the issues with Titanfall but that there's only one or two guys doing work on the franchise, everyone else is working on Apex Legends.

1-2 people working on a multiplayer AAA game is absolutely abandoned.

Respawn has 315 employees. They wouldn't have only 1-2 people working on a project that they deemed of any importance whatsoever.

Then they must not deem it to be of much importance.

They are only working on it because they re being forced too

Correction: they aren't working on it, and I don't believe they see it as them being forced too.

If they felt they were being forced to work on it, there would be more like at least 5-10 people so that they could get actual work done.

Hackers are what made the first Titanfall unplayable. If they basically make Apex unplayable then EA and Resapwn are hurting. Esecially the later since this is a money maker

Electronic Arts suffered a hack not too long ago.

The hackers claim they were able to steal the source code for FIFA 21 as well as for the Frostbite engine that powers numerous games for EA ranging from the Madden to Battlefield franchises as well as Software Development Kits and other proprietary software.

Electronic Arts didn't submit to blackmail over data stolen several weeks ago. The hackers attempted to charge the company 28 million but since the source code contained no user sensitive data, they apparently demurred. Furthermore, the hackers attempted to sell the data to a third party on the black market but there were no takers. So the hackers just gave up and released the source code online.

Update on the previous story regarding the Titanfall and Apex Legends hacks and issues over the past several months, mainly whether members of the 'Save Titanfall' campaign helped plan or execute the hacks on Apex Legends in some sort of attempt to pressure action on fixing the problems associated with the Titanfall games. The Save Titanfall campaign apparently released a forty page report including numerous Discord screenshots among other things in an attempt to exonerate their movement.

Goes into a fair bit of detail and also links to an Upper Echelon Games video which apparently summarizes the entire affair competently as well, though I haven't seen it yet.

Looks like FIFA and EA are parting ways... which is unfortunate. They're both so popular... and much beloved in their operations...

Apparently there were many differences, including in the amount of money FIFA wanted, how EA wanted to rebrand the games, and spokespeople for both companies have issues hilariously ironic statements in relation to this falling out.

PC Gamer said:
"FIFA is bullish and optimistic about its long-term future in gaming and esports following a comprehensive and strategic assessment of the gaming and interactive entertainment market," reads FIFA's statement, before getting in a quick dig at former partner EA: "it is clear that this needs to be a space that is occupied by more than one party controlling all rights."

Yes... imagine if the most popular team sport in the world was occupied by one corrupt and controversy riddled party controlling all rights...

Who would be the corrupt and controversial company in that regard? Both, from what I understand, have been in that category, with FIFA being especially bad thanks to Steele blowing it out into the open from what I remember.

Who are they going to get to replace EA?

This would be good news for Konami if their games weren't worse.

But if Konami pulls it's shit together and isn't stupid, they could actually achieve market domination before FIFA could bring something to market.

Of course, since it requires competence in the sphere of gaming, Konami is doomed already.

I don't think there are any winners in this scenario, except Konami, and possibly whoever gets the contract from FIFA to make the game. I don't think EA or FIFA win from parting ways.

Especially since Baseball is on the rise again after American Football got a few nasty hits to its reputation.

Creative Assembly via Sega. Their real time tactical battle simulation engine will need some slight modifications to apply it to Soccer Hooliganism.

BIG NEWS!!!

EA is creating a new FIRST PERSON SHOOTER games studio with one of the Halo co-founders. As we all know, Electronic Arts has had a complete LACK of Games Studios that it acquired in its past to develop action games besides Danger Close Games, EA Jawbreaker, EA Black Box, Kesmai, Mythic Entertainment, Pandemic Studios, Bioware Montreal, Bioware San Francisco, Visceral Games, and DICE Los Angeles etc... Rest in Peace all.

But this new studio, which doesn't have a name yet, will be based in Seattle and headed by Bungie veteran Marcus Lehto, who since he left Bungie, founded his own game studio called V1 Interactive... which itself failed after the shooter they developed didn't sell.

Get excited boys (and girls I guess)!!!

... Still no word on Titanfall 3? Guess EA truly does not care about it.

Eh, remember that it isn't the single-player that sells, it's multiplayer, and Apex is paying for itself like hotcakes, although the current hacking problem is seriously harming sales. The data we get for games, in general, is rather telling in how little people actually play single-player. All those single-player achievements? Relatively small percentages of people actually get them.

In addition, it heavily depends on the sales numbers, and I wouldn't be surprised that Titanfall 2's sales numbers weren't enough -in the eyes of the stockholders- to greenlight an immediate sequel, hence Apex being a thing (which is, essentially, taking TF2, turning it into the current hot thing, and calling it a day... very little money and time needed since its already there).
