So you haven't played it then.

No, not yet.

Absolute nonsense.

A lot of those points seem to assume you'll always have space to maneuver and never have monsters jump you in a more confined space, or be able to 1v1 the monster to exploit a weakness and never have another monster nearby to cover it. Neither of those appear to hold true for eternal most of the time.

It's the exact opposite. Normally you'd find one gun you like and just use that thorough the game. Low ammo count forces the player to use different weapons in a frantic firefight. A chainsawable enemy isn't always on hand, so you may need to use a weapon you aren't that comfortable with, and get used to it quickly if you want to survive the encounter.

I'm not so sure that "find one weapon and just use it" thing is true. Certainly in 2016 certain weapons seem to see less use like the shotgun and machine gun once players get the chaingun and super shotgun, and you'll eventually develop a preferred combat style and lean more on certain weapons, but personally and as far as I've seen in other players, it's more that they focus on certain weapons over other rather than focusing on just one.....and I wager the same will no doubt happen in eternal, with people using the limited supply of upgrade points and mods to focus on a few weapons and mods they rely on and using the others only when forced too.

In Doom 2016, at later parts of it, you had enough ammo for everything in a single fight and you could just circlestrafe around the arena and never run out. Sure, you needed to get stuck in to replenish health (and ammo from time to time), but in Eternal it's much more pronounced. You need to be aware of the battlefield, figure out where the easy targets are to chainsaw, which ones to avoid (like a mancubus), and plot your route to the walking ammo-pack on the fly, and maybe freeze the problematic enemies for a few moments with your ice grenade, or pull yourself to them with your supashooty. When out of ammo you need to dash, jump, and weave around the battlefield like a butterfly to get to the ammo that will make you sting like a nuclear bee.

It gets the player into the thick of the action much better than 2016 ever did (and 2016 was already fucking amazing at doing that)

I'm not really seeing how that translates to "no, you don't actually have effectively unlimited ammo as long as you push a button every once in a while". That's just saying it's sometimes a bit tricky to hit the button.

I'm wondering how the hell I'D software is gonna top Doom Eternal if they make a another sequel.

Pair the Doom Slayer up with an estranged younger companion for a pseudo-parental relationship which will soften his cold heart during a trek across a post-apocalyptic Purgatory. It's a formula that works now apparently and we gotta get on it before it's played out and ruined by Activision or EA or some shit.

Her name will be Arlene "Crash" Carmine and enters John Ringo mode she's a first year Marine Private with the 15th Light Drop Infantry, Fox Company. She's 5'10 with a tall and athletic frame. Sleekly muscled with a sun kissed farmers tan and while slim, has a well cut figure thanks to her tight musculature and firm curves along her hips and bust with reddish-blonde hair that drapes just over her shoulders but that she has to cruelly keep in a high and tight to maintain regulations. She has striking but soft blueish-gray gaze and is a crack shot as well as quick witted and nimbly athletic and agile. Did I mention her tight and firm assets and bust? She'll look amazing naked... but you'll never get close to seeing it onscreen. /end John Ringo mode She's a combat veteran but obviously nothing along the lines of the Doom Slayer and the only survivor of her unit for more of a tragic backstory as well as hinting back to the Doom Slayers own humble origins.

Players reaction to her will initially be extremely negative, but soften gradually the closer the game comes to release time as it's realized that while she might have the appearance of some sort of military themed THOT, there will be no romance and in fact, still no dialogue from the Doom Slayer as the interactions will be wholly one sided, similar to the Half Life/Portal series. This in turn will spawn lots of lewd fanart, fanfiction and delightful cosplay.

The Doom Slayer and 'Crash' will have to escape purgatory together, journeying through the Gray Wastes, the furnaces of Carceri, and then scaling the seven terraces of Purgatorio before being literally and figurative punted into the depths of the Infinite Layers of the Abyss before hijacking a Demonic warship and riding the waterborne highway known as Acheron up to the pearly gates of the Holy Mountain itself and hold Saint Peter hostage until Jehovah himself coughs up the Doom Slayer's seriously overdue and well earned backpay... with interest.

Somehow through this journey, 'Crash' finds her faith and gets addicted to Catholicism again after a long lapse. Also with things like falling through the Infinite Layers of the Abyss, being shot out of another space cannon and journeying up the riverine Highway of Acheron, Arlene "Crash" Sanders and others will make lighthearted commentary over how ironically deserved her nickname is.

The final chapter of this epic will be titled Yahweh or the Highway.

You have been weighed
Like an action hero, in the vein of characters portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone; someone who could kill thousands of enemies, without getting a single scratch on him.
Name a character played by either of those men who killed a thousand people.

At the risk of going off topic I wonder what their total onscreen movie body count is... there must be a resource for this.

*googles*

Damn it's incomplete... but yeah I doubt it reaches a thousand.

Schwarzengger is more hopeful but yeah... I doubt he reached a thousand kills onscreen directly. :(

Anyways here's the full Slayer's Testament from Doom 2016...

In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Doom Slayer.

Tempered by the fires of Hell, his iron will remained steadfast through the passage that preys upon the weak. For he alone was the Hell Walker, the Unchained Predator, who sought retribution in all quarters, dark and light, fire and ice, in the beginning and the end, and he hunted the slaves of Doom with barbarous cruelty; for he passed through the divide as none but demon had before.

And in his conquest against the blackened souls of the doomed, his prowess was shown. In his crusade, the seraphim bestowed upon him terrible power and speed, and with his might he crushed the obsidian pillars of the Blood Temples. He set forth without pity upon the beasts of the nine circles. Unbreakable, incorruptible, unyielding, the Doom Slayer sought to end the dominion of the dark realm.

The age of his reckoning was uncounted. The scribes carved his name deep in the tablets of Hell across eons, and each battle etched terror in the hearts of the demons. They knew he would come, as he always had, as he always will, to feast on the blood of the wicked. For he alone could draw strength from his fallen foes, and ever his power grew, swift and unrelenting.

None could stand before the horde but the Doom Slayer. Despair spread before him like a plague, striking fear into the shadow-dwellers, driving them to deeper and darker pits. But from the depths of the abyss rose The Great One, a champion mightier than all who had come before. The Titan, of immeasurable power and ferocity. He strode upon the plain and faced the Doom Slayer, and a mighty battle was fought on the desolate plains. The Titan fought with the fury of the countless that had fallen at the Doom Slayer's hand, but there fell the Titan, and in his defeat the shadow horde were routed.

And in his terrible rancor between worlds and through time, the Hell Walker found the wretch who shall not be named, but in his heresy was loyal to his evil cause. The wretch adorned the Doom Slayer in a mighty armor, wrought in the forges of Hell, impenetrable and unyielding. With sword and shield of adamantine strength, the Doom Slayer set to banishing all that were left unbroken by his savagery to the void.

Yet as the mighty Titan fell and dread engulfed the armies of Doom, the demon priests of the Blood Temples laid a trap to capture this scourge of Hell. Insatiable, even by the vanquishing of the Great One, the Hell Walker sought prey in the tombs of the Blood Keep. And blinded by his fervor, the lure drew him in. The priests brought down the temple upon the Doom Slayer, and in his defeat entombed him in the cursed sarcophagus. The mark of the Doom Slayer was burned upon his crypt, a warning to all of Hell that the terror within must never be freed. There he lies still, and ever more, in silent suffering.

He fought at least one demonic 'horde' led by a Titan and probably killed the Cyberdemon (pre-cyber) before all of this Martian nonsense. Other descriptors are hyperbole such as 'countless' and 'uncounted' and the like.[/quote]

And the game is broken, via ramp jumping. To try it out, bind the mouse scroll wheel to jump using console commands. Next, turn framerate as high as possible, sacrificing video quality. The video says 250 is standard for speed runners. Then stand on a ramp and scroll quickly, which should shoot you into the air. Combine with the weapon wheel to slow time and jumping off the edge of the ramp just before the jump (explained in video) for a huge boost.

Bad news everyone.

Bethesda rushed the process of making the Official Soundtrack

And Mick gordon only got to mix 10 tracks the rest were mixed by other people, which is ridiculous because he made the entire Soundtrack

So Mick gordon said he doubts he will work on Doom again.

this is ridiculous how can bethesda screw Mick over, his music is 50% of what makes Doom great.

Epic Bethesda, fucking up in a meta way which screws over their future success. I bet the developers at id Software are pissed at the publisher division.

The sad thing is that it looking like bethesda was getting better when they released the wastelanders update for fo76 , then they just had to fuck it all up again.
