Okay, this definitely messes with my plan, I'll have to do a lot of thinking. In the meantime:

ChoiceValue
[] Execution is the wayInternal "Prestige," no chance of issues
[] Imprisonment is the wayExterior prestige, easier interrogation

I'm going with
[X] Imprisonment is the way

Discord has worked to get a plan up, feel free to either bandwagon or work on something new before it's too late.

[X] Imprisonment is the way

[X] Plan: This is the Way
-[X] Military 5 [$40747.2]
--[X] Expand the Aerie to a full Military University* [65]
--[X] Harden Factory 7 (Roc)
(Relatively inexpensive)
--[X] After Action Review [75]
(Gyrfalcons are almost certainly moving up with this, might be enough with more numbers)
--[X] Purchase New Units
---[X] 1 Flight of Rocs
---[X] 2 Lances of Ambush Battlemechs [70]
---[X] 2 Flights of Eagles [70]
---[X] 1 Flight of Goshawks [70]
---[X] 7 Platoons of Arbalests [70]
---[X] 6 Platoons of Legionnaire Tanks for 2nd Brigade 1st Armored[70]

-[X]Interior 5 [$14500]
--[X] Send Coast Guard to chart and survey Petrochemical find off Five Fingers (E2 on map)* [delayed auto]
--[X] Build Factories for Harris Dropship on Hue Moi [75]
(If they want to build up another planet in our system, we need to be able to hit them)
--[X] Build infrastructure on Pollux [->4]
(We need defenses on Pollux, and space to build more fighter factories)
--[X] Expand Factory 2 (Goshawk) [75]
--[X] Expand Factory 7 (Roc) [75]
(More fighter production so we aren't so stupidly outnumbered)

-[X] Diplomatic 3 [$100]
--[X] Increased funding for the arts [70]

-[X] Political 3 [$1000]
--[X] Town Hall Meetings [auto]

-[X] Research 4 [$47000]
--[X] LOSTECH - Terraforming Equipment Lvl 1 [70]
(Save some money, will probably need higher levels for colonizing our system)
--[X] Into the Vault! [55]
(We finally can do this!)
--[X] Electronics lvl 3 [70]
(Needed for TL)
--[X] Industrial Mechs Tier 1 [75]
(Helpful for all our desired construction)

-[X] Intelligence 3 [$0]

-[X] Justice 2 [$0]

-[X] Training [$0]

-[X] Miscellaneous [$500]
--[X] Change factory 4 (Enterprise) to Defiant assault dropship

EDIT: I can't type the right choice between goshawks and gyrfalcons, fixed

Just isn't worth the risk, they live for this kind of stuff and the temptation of being able to escape and make up for their dishonor by doing something that will help weaken the planet will inspire them to fanatical extremes if given the opportunity.

[X] Plan: This is the Way

Plan by Jarow seems good.

Time to end pirate infestation.
Turn a few old Falcon ASF into drone fighters, Next Pirate JS brings in drop ship, make them pay for predictability.

Give the Dropship or Jumpship a Yellow bird kamikaze enema, at max velocity. An ASF drone is nothing more than a heavy armored capital missile.
Remove weapons for fuel and armor.

Jump ship easiest to wreck.
Sounds like they keep using same Jump point, simple ballistics x point intersection from y point, with object acceleration from y.

If done from right angle , pirate force may never see ASF drive signature.

And would need active radar/ lidar to even see. Yellow bird Drone before impact.

The Yellow Bird drones took 2 months to modify 8 militia Falcon ASF, while targeting package R&D team integrated a homing package with the standard target drone automated flying package.

The militia Falcon ASF had all the weapons pulled with armor and fuel tank added to keep the Drone performance the same as a Falcon.

The Aerie’s astrophysics department requires less than a week to determine the best point to launch “Operation Tweety”, with highest probability of not being detected, and best chance of target destruction with pirate drop ships on the jump ships collars.

Six weeks later :
“Birdcage, this is Tweety Control, confirm Yellow bird impact”.

“ Tweety Control confirm IR signature of multiple impacts on Invader JS, 85% probability of Jumpship destruction.
Similar probability of destruction of 3 drop ships, tentatively identified as a Union, Leopard, and a Mule drop ship”.

Operation Tweety H+27:( General Potters brief on Operation Tweety)
General Potter....“Your Majesty, final results from our yellow bird ambush resulted in destruction of the Invader jump ship and 2 drop ships, the Mule and Leopard are confirmed as total loss. The Union drop ship appears to have limped back to Griff IV, but as of this time not attempted a landing. We believe the drop ship has to much damage to land”.

“ Secondly your majesty, the Mule class drop ship may give us an opportunity.
Our analysis is that the Mule has spin imparted from breaches in the ships hull. The Mule surprisingly has lost most of the velocity imparted from the JS explosions.
The Aerie’s big brained boffins, want to attempt a salvage operation”?

yeesh you'd think that the Dracs would at least attempt to negotiate for the surrender of our world before launching attack after attack. Seriously I know they don't value life very much but blowing up infrastructure you could use if you were a bit smarter is simply iditocy at its finest

I think part of the problem is that the Darcs can’t conceive of a Middle-Of-Bumfuck-Nowhere planet like ours as having meaningful infrastructure. Blame ComStar.

Well, we are already a major manufacturing planet by current IS standards (16 ASFs, 12 mechs, and some dropship production every year. Not at the scale of the largest, but more than the average world). This is very not what they might expect to find literally in the middle of nowhere. As for space infrastructure? No one makes ferro-fib, ferro-aluminum, DHS, or endosteel at all anymore, or even know anything about how to make it; not surprised they have no idea how valuable our orbital infrastructure actually is.

As for ground attacks directly on infrastructure? They didn't even know we could build ASFs until this combat, we could have repaired things from initial colonization that never got used in the first (pre-quest) combat for the second (first in quest) combat. Kamikaze attacks aren't good for intelligence gathering in their third attack. Now they know we're a lot more valuable than we seemed, instead of just an annoyance that needs to serve the Dragon it has been until now (though they're still almost certainly greatly underestimating our real value - we actually have the science no one in the IS has). Though if anyone is willing to sacrifice potential productivity in the name of War Crimes, the Combine would definitely be it.

Time to end pirate infestation.

It would be easier put some clawS in the Enterprise's hull and put a couple of tungsten rods on them. Then send the Big-E to scout and locate the kuritan base and later send her in a trajectory to left the rods in a ballistic trajectory to the base. At high speed even if the attack fails in deliver a direct impact the shockwave would damage it enough to hamper the utility of the base.

Change factory 4 (Enterprise) to Defiant assault dropship

In the fall the Aerie accepts its first formal class as a full up Military University, and your son and future daughter-in-law (your son proposed on the dock after coming ashore, and Alita accepted on the spot, neither had the common decency to ask you first. You are completely ignoring that Jeremy had told you his plans and you’d not said no. This sort of recklessness clearly comes from Willis’ side of the family!) join the first induction, entering Basic.

You remember your stint in Basic. You checked, and Sergeant Brockhammer was long retired and you doubted the AFGR had found a more sadistic drill instructor since. Basic is meant to be tough, but Brockhammer had been pure evil. Sure it was an all female squad, and Brockhammer was a fellow member of the Estrogen Brigade, but turning the squad out at 2 in the morning in bras and panties and making you run five miles in the rain was pure sadism on the bitches part.

You can’t deny that it did toughen you up, of course. But still.

Two months later and your son has finished Basic successfully, in fact he wound up the cadet platoon leader for his platoon. You are present for the march past and manage to keep from breaking decorum as you take his salute. Alita did nearly as well amongst the female cadets and is a cadet sergeant.

The Town Hall is finished after multiple delays due to the Dracs being oh so inconsiderate as to attack in the middle of what had been supposed to be the final session. You gain some invaluable insight on your people's needs and desires (which at the moment seem to center on kicking some Kurita ass).

There is a flurry of activity on the industrial side, with several factories being expanded to boost production of various ASFs, as well as some hardening of the existing facilities. Infrastructure itself is now far hardier thanks to changes in building codes you’d initiated years ago, so all in all you will take far less damage from any raids that break through orbital defenses.

You now have a construction line for the Harris class transport dropship.

The Enterprise factory has been converted to produce the smaller Defiant class assault dropship. The particulars for that design are frightening, and you aren’t the pilot in the family.

The after-action reports are a mixed bag, but what stands out to you the most is the sheer brilliance displayed by the Roc wing in action. They managed a 99% hit rate with all of their shots and somehow took not a single hit in return. Granted they were bullying a lone dropship, but it was an Overlord, not some trash hauler.

Likewise the Eagles of the Dogfighter wing acquitted themselves spectacularly, as did the Goshawks from the 1st Attack Wing. The 3 flights of Goshawks from the orbital stations and the Gyrfalcons didn’t do nearly as well, however, and there are some red faces and shuffling feet in the debriefs there.

Some new Rocs and Goshawks have come off the production lines, along with 2 flights of the superb Eagle. The 2nd Brigade of 1st Armored is being built up as well.

The first Mech battalion of the 1st Brigade is now at full strength. Future Ambush production should be sent to the Aerie Cadre to fill out that unit to full strength.

The water purification technology that was found in the ruins of the original colony site has been reverse engineered and is now available. Currently there is no need for it, but considering just how shockingly dry Phoenix and Griffin IV are it would be incredibly useful there.

Likewise basic Electronics research has been completed, with further miniaturization of many systems and some intriguing new technologies in hand-held personal electronics.

The research teams assigned to Industrial Mechs make a very early breakthrough in their research and more than halve the expected time until completion of their project. The new equipment is already in mass production and has shown great promise for heavy construction, mining, and agriculture.

The complex entry team successfully cracks open the main door of the hidden bunker complex. They report successful entry and that the facility appears to be in excellent condition. You then get a report that they’d found the central computer and were booting it up.

Then silence.

For hours.

Then a full day.

The backup team goes in and reports that they’d found the initial team pouring over the computers in the control room.

Then they go silent as well.

The backup to the backup team goes in, and a few hours later you get a very disgusted report.

Both previous teams are just fine, they’d just found an incredibly detailed simulation game loaded on the facilities main computer system and had instantly gotten completely hooked. Rick Smart, the team leader for the backup to the backup team, is very disgruntled about this and sends a very scathing report about the entire situation. He loudly insists that just because this ‘Star Citizen’ finally apparently had a full release version that ran stably and well it was still completely a scam and somebody named Chris Roberts needed to be ashamed of himself.

You discreetly check and find that Mr Smart had spent a few years as a student of the Department of Periphery Studies but had graduated.

You finally get the report you’d been waiting for. It starts with the small stuff.

First, they’d found a voodoo doll of a male wearing a completely unfamiliar uniform that seemed to have Wolf themes, labeled ‘Nicholas Kerensky’. Said voodoo doll had a large pin inserted into a particularly painful part of the anatomy. They’d also found dolls of a number of unusual creatures, which were helpfully labeled ‘Clan Wolf’ on a wolf, ‘Clan Coyote’ on a coyote, ‘Clan Ghost Bear’ on what looks like a polar bear, and others. The spider labeled ‘Clan Widowmaker’ was impaled by a large knife.

They’d found a stockpile of what you could have sworn were myths. Freeze-dried Triple-F Burgers, and they’d also found the precise recipe for making them. According to the report, they’d tried the recipe, and had pronounced it ‘just as delicious as legend and lore claimed’ and requested permission to market the recipe.

There was an active datacore, however it appeared to be purely historical data of something called Clan Wolverine. The system is operational, but would require some research to make sure that data transfer is successful.

And then comes the big stuff. A massive Assault mech is listed first, the data that they’d found identified it as a PUL-2V Pulverizer. 90 tons with what is listed as an ‘Enhanced Extended-Range PPC’, an LRM-10, and 2 8cm lasers. You also now have working models of freezers, significantly reducing the cost of researching them yourself. This mech is in decent shape, although it would require work to unfreeze the actuators and make some basic repairs to the myomer bundles it is nothing that is beyond the capabilities of your technicians.

The second mech is in equally good shape, although it is far smaller. This one is identified as an ST-24G Stag II. This has another example of that advanced PPC, but also is sporting an extra-light fusion engine, medium pulse lasers, and a small laser. It’s larger than any mech you currently have in inventory, but looks to be a pretty solid design.

The third mech, unfortunately, is a write-off in terms of repairing it, considering that it is missing both of its legs and the head. This one is labeled as an MCY-100 Mercury II, and while there is no way you’ll be repairing this one without a near total rebuild you do find an additional example of an extra-light engine, more freezers, a Beagle Active Probe, a Guardian ECM, and an Extended Range 8cm Laser.

The centerpiece of the compound, however, is found in the very last chamber entered. This one is massively reinforced to an almost absurd degree, and shows significant signs of having shrugged off immense heat and blast in the past.

In the center of the chamber is the obvious source for it. A fully intact, completely operational, fully fueled and capable Confederate class Dropship proudly showing the insignia of the 331st Regimental Combat Team. According to the entry team, all it needs is a crew and it can be flown out of the complex immediately, it is in that good of condition.

Loaded on the Confederate in the ASF bays are a pair of HMR-HDb Royal Hammerheads that are lacking in fuel and are in need of basic maintenance, but would be flyable once that was completed. They are each armed with a massive gauss rifle but nothing else.

Guessing this is the bonus for the 15 rolled after we officially had enough rolls; free bonuses!
EDIT: this is wrong, it's actually the voodoo dolls; but still - free bonuses!

That sweet sweet loot is finally ours, also looking forward to the realization that the original periphery studies were wolverines. Of course no one else can ever no since the clans would glass the world because we have descendants of their boogeymen here.
