[X] Just watch for now, it’s a juvenile crush and doesn’t seem to be anything too serious yet considering their ages.
[X] Use the superpower of leadership and delegate to Willis. It’s his fault anyways.

"No seriously, it absolutely is your fault and no amount of stupidly sexy fighter pilotness will get you out of it. It's your Y chromosome!"

[X]Have Janet discretely investigate the situation to make sure the girl isn’t a threat to your eldest.

[X] Write-In- Jeremy deserves to have this talk with both parents. He needs to know what a healthy relationship is. What women and men want, and what they deserve. In short, he needs to know both sides or the equation.

It's not contradictory at all. Non-union workers are at-will employees which the employer can fire at any time and for any reason. Union workers are contract employees which the employer can only fire based on the termination conditions agreed upon in the contract.

Let's try looking at these "contracts" the other way around. The employee cannot quit, but the employer can fire him on two weeks notice. The employer can at any time lock him out of his job to "renegotiate" the "contract" (the inverse of a labor strike). We'd call that slavery. When labor enslaves capital we might desire a different term, but it is the same evil.

Union contracts are inherently under duress. Real fairness would be ruling that no such contract can be enforced and sending the union officers to prison for racketeering. Allowing them to keep anything of their contracts while declaring only the clauses that actually enslave their employer is bending over backwards to be nice to them.

[X]Have Janet discretely investigate the situation to make sure the girl isn’t a threat to your eldest.

They're both old enough that relationships they have now can become romantic. Best to find any issues before it progresses past a crush and we risk seriously estranging our heir trying to protect him.

The same sex parent traditionally gives the Talk. I'm pretty sure that's to limit embarrassment on the part of either the male or the child.

Turn 19 - Fluff

The year starts out with… a bang.

You hate yourself for the mental pun.

But bright and early on January 1st you are awakened with news of a serious VTOL accident on Capricorn with several CH-1’s crashing into the jungle following severe system failures. Luckily it had been a repositioning flight rather than an operational flight so no infantry were on board but still you have lost 6 pilots.

Within a day an order is given grounding all CH-1s, and by the end of the week it becomes glaringly obvious that the elderly helicopters are in no shape to continue operations. The production line for them had last produced anything in your grandfather’s time, and the ones you’d had in service had been resurrected from boneyards following the initial Drac attack.

Fortunately there already was a replacement design ready to go and it only takes a few strokes of your pen to authorize the replacement of the ancient CH-1s with brand new CH-2s. The new birds are a significant upgrade to the older model, not only more reliable but also tougher and with better close-in armament to help clear LZs.

There is a proposal on the table to fold the Castor/Pollux Scout Team into the Mine Defense Force. It would somewhat simplify command and control, as the scout team no longer really has a purpose.

There has also been several proposals submitted to replace the Type 1 APC. While a decent battle taxi, the Type 1 is functionally unarmed and serves purely as a means of getting infantry to the battlefield, not being able to support them once they arrive.

Due to the payouts from the Luxury Airship Service you’ll be able to afford to purchase a significant amount of mechanized infantry mounted in any of these designs. General Potter recommends assigning one regiment to 1st Armored and one to 1st Aerie Cadre to provide a training force both for vehicles and eventually to infantry.

[]Combat Transport M3280247/6APC 117,874
[]BMP-4384205/5APC 123,490

You have a total of 15,000 available immediately from Airship Service revenue for this purchase. Any amount over will be deducted from the military budget, any amount under will be added to the general fund.

QM NOTE - All of the designs have a record sheet available in the Design Bureau section of the Discord. Weasel and Combat Transport M3 each received a +1 base offense rating and +4 base health due to design luck rolls. Design will be designated the Weasel IFV regardless of who wins.

Assign forces as requested by General Potter?

You fully intend to put your foot down and make your husband give Jeremy The Talk™ but.. The day you intend to do just that you encounter a somewhat wild-eyed and still furiously blushing young man looking shell-shocked, and a husband who has THAT look.

Damn fighter pilot.

At the next HRL Junior League meet you can tell that Alita Stearns (the crush in question) has evidently been given the Talk as well by her parental unit, as Jeremy and Alita are adoringly skittish around each other. Puppy love, it’s so cute!

You do get to meet Alita’s mother, who appears to be a very down-to-earth woman who it turns out actually runs her own small construction firm specializing in commercial buildings.

And, of course, the two of you start sharing baby pictures, which prompts loud cries of dismay from both teenagers, which in turn simply inspires you both to smile at your respective offspring, deepening their distress.

Bastet seems to find this utterly hilarious, judging by how she immediately begins bestowing extra-slobbery Licks of Approval on both teens, while Sekhmet is chuffing in laughter at the shenanigans.

Happily it seems that whatever their relationship is is quite capable of surviving parental embarrassment and The Talk™. This might not be a simple crush after all, and it appears that Alita might well reciprocate your son’s feelings to some extent.

He’s a good boy, and Willis tells you he was very firm in stressing just how many people would seek to take advantage of Jeremy due to his rank.

[] It might be a good idea to bring Janet in discretely, let’s not take any risks.
[] They’re so cute together, let’s not risk spoiling it.

The twins move up to the Junior League, joining their older brother, albeit in a lower division, and suddenly they seem to be taking racing far more seriously. And it becomes even more obvious that all of their messing around in the Pee Wee League had a purpose… it allowed them to become absolutely and totally familiar with the handling intricacies of hovercraft in nearly every control state. And they put that knowledge to excellent use right off the bat. They’ve entered two races, they came in 1-2 in each of them, with the twins splitting the victories.

Thanh is in contention for the championship this year, and is proving just as much a prodigy as Jeremy ever was, indeed she seems to be even more skilled than your eldest. Jeremy, predictably, seems completely happy with his sisters abilities and is always her loudest supporter at her races. And he keeps on bringing Alita along who also cheers Thanh on. Such good kids.

Sarah, to your everlasting relief, shows absolutely no signs of being interested in actually racing. She seems far happier helping decorate her big sisters racer, or Biggest Brothers racer, than interested in actually racing herself.

At least one of your kids takes after you and isn’t an adrenaline junkie. You pretend that you don’t own your own personal Chasseur that you race about in.

(I'd leave it alone if I was an ordinary parent, but, Planetary Queen. We are sadly required to be a little cynical.)

Baby pictures, the ultimate Mom Power Move.

Mini-Omake FTW!

For the record, that darn insufferable (beloved) fighter pilot is absolutely the only adrenaline junkie in the family. And the kids' interest in racing is solely and exclusively his fault, and the fact that the kids love it when Mommy goes zoom has nothing to do with anything at all. You're the Queen, you're never wrong about these things!

On a completely unrelated note, being immune to traffic tickets is absolutely the best perk of being The Queen.

On another completely unrelated note, your security team continues to fuss about having to vet and cross-train professional race drivers for your motorcade escorts. You wonder what that's even about, honestly. It's not that hard to keep up.

First Mount up Part 2 (Omake)
Harry walked the ambush around the yard he'd put in serious time in the sims to get ready for this, but it hadn't prepared him for the strange feeling of the Mech moving beneath him. It felt odd like a lurching sensation, but it still couldn't dampen his excitement which seemed to grow as he walked around the yard—testing rotation and control as he moved the Mech around locking onto various targets such as the armoured cadets as they drove past or the commandant jeep at one point to test the sensors.

"Ok since you got a feel for her," Sally said over the com, "Were going to take her out to the testing range we set up I'll monitor you from here at central and try not to catch the paint job."

"Roger that Sally," He said, "I'll be careful."

"Ok," she said, "marking first Nav point on your HUD as Alpha get there, and the fun will begin."

"Roger," he said as he walked his Mech out the gate leading to the practice range and training ground and stopped waiting as a Nav point appeared off in the distance.

"Ok we are going to push your Ambush and you," Sally said, "We're starting with the obstacle course follow the Nav points and try to maintain maximum speed as you go to end we have the firing range we'ill see how well you do then."

"Roger Sally," He said, smiling, "Let's rollout."

He took the Mech into a slow walk then pushed it to a run the lurching became worse, but he felt a spike of adrenaline as he Mech went from 50kph to 97kph as it ran along the dirt road kicking up mud.

The Mech flew down the road turning the practising armour and artillery on the range into shakey blurs. He took this time to test the senors switching rapidly between friendly targets. Before long the computer informed he'd hit Nav point alpha which led along a military road with a sheer side that dropped into the river.

Then Nav point Beta appeared leading him down the road he had to slow slightly to navigate and avoid going into the river due to misstep. He felt his nerves shoot up a little as he looked into the water he remembered last week they had an infantryman drown in this river. He was no coward, but he really didn't want to fall into the river and get stuck in his Mech.

He quickly hit Nav point Beta, which was a rough river crossing, used for training hovercraft drivers. He slowed down as Nav point Charlie appeared going into the Jungle just across the river. He carefully walked his Mech into the water. He felt a tinge of nervousness as it reached up to the mechs knees and the lurching motion of the Mechs gait felt like he was walking through thick mud probably due to the resistance of the water.

Eventually, after a few nerve-wracking moments, he made it to the other side and touched the shore and took his Mech up to cruising speed and made his way into the Jungle when he hit the far bank he pushed the throttle and sprinted his Mech through the jungle feeling the change in the terrain as the Mech moved through the jungle.

He felt his mech lurch as he crossed into the jungle the undergrowth wrapping around his Mech and pushed on until he came upon the range they'd set up using some rough carpentry.

"Ok, we're testing the laser," Sally said, "I'm monitoring everything from here give it a whirl on target one."

With a wide grin, he depressed the trigger blasting holes in one of the wooden targets centre torso. It tore through the wood, sending smoking splinters spinning off into the jungle. He felt a spike in heat as the medium lasers were sunk.

"Ok, all good here," Sally said, "time for the LRMs aim at target two and let her have it."

He switched to the bigger wooden Mech off at the minimum range and one pull of the trigger he felt the rumble as the LRM fives blast out. It shattered the wooden target in many little pieces as the missiles impacted.

"All green here," Sally said, "walker your mech back through route charlie we will do a few more test, but all looks good."

"Ok, heading back," he said, "see you in the hanger."

A Mad Mans Proposal

General Potter sat at his desk; it was a lovely day outside lovely blew sky, warm with a cooling breeze coming through the open window. He focused some papers work as he waited for his aide Corporal Ashdown who had gone to pick up their guest he had to say he interested in this meeting both because of who proposed it and what it was entailed he looked down at the proposal which had a Black Girfftiger claw on a dark red background. He'd read the project proposal and decided to meet the man who had somehow managed to get it into his inbox without his aide even knowing.

There was a knock at the door, and Ashdown entered and stood at attention.

"Sir Captain Churchill to see you," said the young man.

"Send him in Corporal," He said.

In entered a man with short hair wearing the working uniform of the armed forces with short brown hair and a moustache's. With an empty Sword sheath at his side and a quiver on his back, which made Potter's eyebrows rise slightly. He'd Heard of Lieutenant Archibald Malcolm Augustus David Churchill only by reputation a noted eccentric in the armed forces who regularly carried a sword and longbow alongside a rifle and was the leader of 4th Platoon of the 3rd Company, 2nd Regiment who was noted for running through a DEST agent with his sword during the companies against them.

He was also noted to be an avid hunter and adrenaline junkie doing base jumping, motorcycle stunts and all other manners of extreme sports as well as a master of the bagpipes. He was overall a skilled if strange officer as well as a cunning man if he was able to get his proposal into his tray somehow.

He nodded to the Lieutenant, "be seated lieutenant," he said.

The man grinned and sat down, "You read my proposal, sir?" he asked.

"Yes, I did," he said nodding, "however lieutenant I want to hear it from the horse mouth, so to think."

"Well, sir after fighting against those blighted Huns," He said, "I realised sir we don't have a response to the Huns assassins we needed out own Special Actions Force to deal with those bothersome fellows."

He nodded slowly, "Hence you started writing this document," he said, putting his hand on it in question.

"Yes sir," Churchill said nodding, "we need a merry band of men and women who can hunt the blighters down and go behind enemy lines and cause all kinds of mischief against the enemy as well as perform intelligence action in a pinch. For these men, we need them to be exceptional. We need volunteers from the ranks put them through a hard selection and then train them up to be the best of the best."

"That goes without saying," Potter said, "one final question, Lieutenant how did you get this into my tray?"

"Ah sir," Churchill said, "a little sleight of hand hid it in amongst your regular paperwork a little subterfuge sir so it could make it to the top."

Potter smiled at the man's explanation and asked his final question, "what are you planning to call them."

"Ah sir, I was thinking of calling them the Paracommando's sir or the Tiger Claws," said Churchill.
