Occasionally spouting nonsense
Every J is capitalized, as is one T
a D an A and an P are also capitalized

These are apparently the last hints Sun is going to give.
T might be Texas as that is only capital T word I can think of in this context. J is probably Jumpship since every J is capitalized. P might be New Phoenix since that is a new colony so the most likely to have a new thing come up. A could be for Amaris Remnant since that is a major faction. Finally D for Dropships.

My guess is that an Amaris Remnant faction is coming or is at New Phoenix, doing something with Jumpships and a Texas and dispatches Dropships to something, maybe us. No idea how to fit that with the letter puzzle, but that’s my guess of the situation.

Can’t wait for those Rad Habitats for GV’s to get done. Stupid Parliament pork project.

Admittedly they're not the greatest actions, and I'll be glad when they're done, but they aren't actually bad actions either. And they're free, which is hard to complain about (even if not that useful given out budget to DoME cost ratio)

Hey, people who get the combat mechanics better than me. How viable would it be to build a free squadron of AMS boats for the Drac invasion?

Pretty much everything we make nowadays has either max or close to max AMS ratings, though we're presumably unlocking capital AMS this turn. Biggest problem with bringing designs anywhere is jump ability. As for using autocannons specifically, everything is pretty heavily abstracted, the BV value of the design is the only way most things are accounted for in the design (LRMs, AMS, armor, and capital weapons are the primary exceptions - each has additional effects beyond their pure BV effects)

It’s been a long time since you’ve gone racing yourself, despite your brothers constantly trying to get you to join them, but you’ve been far too busy. Still, it’s nice going to the track to watch. Alita is with you, along with most of your grandchildren.

In Hovercraft racing Team Griffon utterly crushes the competition. The twins are at the top of their game in terms of recruiting drivers and pit crews and it shows. The average pit time for Team Griffon is almost half that of any of the other teams as they operate like well-oiled machines. It is quickly obvious that the question isn’t whether or not Team Griffon will win, but who will come in second, in this case it’s the Romans thanks to somewhat more capable driving from their drivers, let down by the slowness of their pit crews.

The same story is present during the Motorcycle races, although there are no pit stops Team Griffon completely dominates the race. The highest placed Rasalhaguian driver is 4 laps down by the time the race is over, with the Roman driver a half lap behind her. And this was with the Griffon driver slowing down in the 3rd stage in order to not lap the others even more.

The stock car race is marred by a Big One near the midpoint of the race that took out almost all of the Rasalhaguian drivers, however the survivors manage to claw back into the race and actually, due to the finishing order, earn a respectable silver medal in the race, only being 2 laps down from the leaders from Team Griffon who swept the podium of the race itself.

The Formula race is a bloodbath, neither the Rasalhaguians nor the Romans manage to finish any cars at all following a massive wreck coming off pit road that manages to wipe out both teams entries. Even resetting the race a day later, at the insistence of Team Griffon to make it sporting, didn’t help much as another wreck pretty much paid for anything the others could put together.

The final event of the Games is, as always, the Marathons. This year both the Griffon men and women put in dominating performances, taking gold. In the end, this leaves Team Griffon with a record 18 golds, 7 silver, and 4 bronzes, with the NRI barely edging out the Rasalhaguians for second with 6 and 5 golds respectively.

A Crimson Storm affiliated Cruiser-class warship appears in Griffon space. They arrive peacefully, and have requested an urgent meeting with your mother. Evidently they are having some… parenting issues and are desperate for help and advice.

A few days later you get a message from your mother, she’d like to take HMS Renown and, with Willis, go off to the home system of the Crimson Storm to teach some badly needed Complete Idiot’s Guide to Parenting Teenagers 101 for Dummies classes for the Crimson Storm. They’re offering to hand over a working mobile HPG set in exchange. Your youngest sister has expressed an interest in going as well.
[]Well, she raised you, so she must know what she’s doing.

You send one of your new Miranda class vessels, accompanied by a Dart and a pair of Daggers plus full complements of dropships, to GX-A2. Upon arrival they find drifting wreckage at the jump point; a dozen jumpships appear to have been self-destructed recently. There are drifting escape pods, most of which were ejected empty, but those that had people in them had run out of power, air, and supplies months before. Likewise, the squadron detects multiple orbital stations that have likewise been self-destructed. There are no survivors in space.

On the third planet there appears to be a genocidal massacre under way. Drac forces are rampaging among a very primitive society that appears to be a group of Mennonites, who are in general not resisting with anything but prayer as ISF radicals are lining them up for sword practice.

The Miranda had remained at the jump point, fast charging her drive, and quickly jumped back. Two weeks later the 3rd Brigade Combat Team arrives in system at a pirate point near the planet and makes rapid planetfall. Despite the fact that the Dracs had to know you were in system they hadn’t paused at all in their massacres to make any preparations to oppose the landing, and the 3rd BCT goes on a rampage of their own, cutting down Dracs left and right in a desperate attempt to save as many civilians as possible.

In the end, there are less than twenty thousand badly traumatized survivors out of a population that had once numbered in the hundreds of millions on the incredibly fertile, if mineral poor, planet. None of the Dracs were taken alive. You note the reports that rather blandly discuss Drac soldiers who ‘faked surrender’ and were ‘killed resisting capture’. Your son John was part of the first wave down, and he’s admitted to you that they were not taking any prisoners, even though some of the Dracs had tried to surrender.

Captured files indicate that the ISF offices in the system had realized that they were cut off from the Dragon and had commenced a scorched earth campaign to make the system as useless as possible to any of the Dragon’s enemies. Evidently their contingency orders included butchering every non ISF Drac in the system as ‘cowards who would never do what needs to be done for the Glory of the Dragon’.

The locals call the system ‘New Eden’. The only fully habitable planet is absolutely lush. Almost no useful industrial metals at all, but the land is extremely fertile, the climate is very gentle and highly conducive to agriculture. The growing season is year round, and the land is so incredibly fertile that it is possible to have four entire harvests each year without straining any given plot of farmland.

The few survivors are broken. There are none who hadn’t lost multiple family members, either to the ‘conscriptions’ of the Dragon or to this massacre. Over three quarters of the survivors are young children who’d managed to hide from the Dracs until you arrived.

Needless to say, humanitarian efforts have already begun, and the decision has been made to transport the survivors off the planet to the Griffon system for care. Burial parties from the 3rd are hard at work giving the millions of dead as dignified a funeral as possible given the circumstances.

The survey expedition sent to GX-C13 finds a somewhat complicated system.

The one habitable world, GX-C13-IV, is only habitable due to the pair of large Jovian-mass gas giants in the -III and -V orbital positions providing enough thermal energy to keep the planet from becoming an iceball. The orbital mechanics are such that one or the other of the gas giants are almost always close enough to keep the planet above freezing, on the rare occasions when neither is close enough the planet indeed becomes a snowball.

There is quite literally no dry land on the planet. The oceans cover every square millimeter of the surface, but across most of the surface are only a few centimeters to a meter in depth. There are deeper basins, but even the deepest, from orbital scans, is less than a kilometer in depth. The highest life forms that have evolved on the planet are primitive armored fish.

Initial surveys of the gas giants show that the moons have enormous deposits of industrial metals, and the innermost asteroid belt has enormous deposits of germanium available.

But the single most interesting bit about the system is what crashed into the dwarf planet in the second orbital position. The wreckage is more than identifiable, although it does appear to have been rather thoroughly stripped for parts. It is an old SLDF Whirlwind destroyer that appears to have suffered severe battle damage prior to being, perhaps deliberately, crashed into the airless dwarf planet.

There are other signs of a long ago battle in the system, drifting bits of wreckage and detritus float about in the system in a density that indicates that perhaps up to a dozen warships were involved. Initial analysis shows that at least one Texas, possibly a Congress, a Riga or maybe a Quixote, and several more unidentified ones are present in the debris field, or at least scattered debris from them. There are no intact vessels remaining. The Whirlwind is the only quasi-intact wreck, and it is well beyond salvaging.

On the domestic front, upgrades have been completed to the Ferro Fibrous forges in the empire, significantly boosting production levels. Likewise, the new Jumpship yard that had been delayed last year has been completed. Expansion of the rest of your yards results in an additional Jumpship yard coming online along with large numbers of new dropship production bays. The capital yards have likewise been expanded, allowing you to continue to rapidly expand your warship fleet. Finally a new Germanium Processing Facility is now online in Griff’s Leap, increasing your ability to feed all of your new yards.

All of the commercial stations in the Empire have been upgraded with attached laboratory complexes, significantly improving the flexibility of your researchers in terms of locations for experiments.

In other R&D news, you review reports on the successful tests for the new Swordfish anti-missile missile, as well as the enhanced gimballing and tracking upgrades for subcapital lasers. The latter will only, for now, apply to new construction; older mounts are not configured properly for the new systems without more significant yard work that would be better suited for major upgrade periods.

Work on the latest generation of compact KF cores has also been completed, with Majeure Electrique’s Phantom Works presenting the Project: Durandal design, which has been accepted into potential service as the Fletcher class in a nod to the famous Second World War destroyers from old Earth.

With only four bronze medals, there is a bureaucratic miscue in regards to the planned sports camps. Specifically, the wrong sorts of camps were lined up as nobody expected the performances put on in sports which had, in the past, always been Griffon weaknesses. The camps should be up and running next year, at least there are only four of them!

The Imperial Senate really appreciates the work Jake is putting in on your behalf, and while it will prevent any erosion of support it is exceptionally hard to move support up above the level it is at. Meanwhile, the Chamber of Delegates continues to be a hostile environment, but Jake is able to make some progress with the less intransigent Delegates, aided by the announced focus on helping the Griffon System decisively break out of its economic malaise.

The civil service has been expanded, giving you a bit more flexibility in the future in terms of new projects to undertake.

The economy on Calliope IV is exploding, between the vehicle industry and the rapidly growing military industrial complex there, not to mention general consumer goods and the like, the planet is rapidly catching up to the Core.

Investment in New Capricorn bears some fruit, helping to nudge the economy along and going a ways to erasing the scars left by the media malpractice.

The horrors on New Eden almost overshadowed the successful establishment of the new domed colony on New Phoenix. Growth will be slow, and likely to require the help of DoME, but already there are plenty of factory sites available. Due to the industrial potential of the system, it is possible to undertake Megafactory projects here despite it not being a Core world, and there will be no environmental degradation from doing so.

A special operations team is inserted in Nya Kopenhamn III and successfully eliminates their target before extracting right ahead of a vengeful mob of religious nutcases. More crude nuclear devices are launched at you, but your anti-missile defenses handily deal with that ‘threat’. The surviving ‘pastors’ have gone underground, and are continuing their ranting, but without them being seen by their ‘flocks’ their effectiveness is slowly dwindling in the face of your propaganda.

The operation to destroy the agricultural area on Nya Kopenhamn IV where the super-heroin base plant is grown is a complete success, and the crazies who are already addicted to it are going even crazier as they are forced into withdrawal. As this included many of the leaders of the hedonists, this is having the effect of weakening their overall control.

The new HPG stations are up and broadcasting, increasing the overall bandwidth available to the network and allowing for even more commerce and communication.

The AFGE has now been fully reorganized into the IGN, IGA, and IGAF. The new Academy organizational structures are implemented, and the first classes in the new system have been properly assigned.

The system government of Nowy Slask is requesting that you open a satellite campus of the Naval Academy there. You already have a capital yard, a regular shipyard, and a jumpship yard in the system, and the system government is arguing that they are well-placed to support such a campus, especially now with the large filters filtering out the worst of the obnoxious gases from the atmosphere.

Martina reports that the work has been completed on the latest round in the endless battle against regulatory bloat and legal complexity. The freshly trimmed and rationalized law codes are currently in effect, at least for now.

The new White Towers have been completed around GX-B3, which still doesn’t have a punchy name. The bright blue supergiant is a roiling, boiling, frothing, seething monster of a star, after all, and deserves an appropriate name.
[]<write-in>

The new Oasis II stations have been completed, expanding your recharge network and also providing even more defenses to the jump points themselves. Likewise, procurement of new ASF units has kept pace with demand, filling all of the launch bays as required.

New Army units are ready for action, as hundreds of new mechs, tanks, and other combat vehicles pour off the production lines into the eager hands of freshly trained and eager soldiers. Likewise large numbers of new dropships, jumpships, and warships have been laid down this year.

Yes, that is a 5/8 parasite battlecruiser with almost twice the BV rating of our existing parasite BBs, thanks to a French-style all-forward main battery. In "real" terms, a Majestic-class PBB mounts six heavy subcap cannons in each arc as its main battery and can concentrate up to twelve SCCs on a single target; the proposed Canopus-class PBC mounts forty heavy subcap cannons in the forward arcs only and can put thirty of them on a single target.

In character, the "heavy Dropship" team didn't have anything to do since the current Navy contracts were for WarShips and a new destroyer-weight escort DropShip, so they. . . got creative on their own.

Honestly can the dracs get any worse? This is bigger than kentares right? If we make it to the IS I hope we refuse to have diplomatic relations with them, maybe declare them Hostis humani generis

[X] Well, she raised you, so she must know what she’s doing.

Mobile HPGs are one of the big things that I plan to prioritize for next turn, not failing would be nice. Also gets us closer to the people who gave us warship tech, and can provide us with intel with our next big threat. And gives us a window (and limited ability to change) their culture.

[X] Establish the Nowy Slask Naval Academy Annex

Not overly expensive, and helps prevent the usage of rerolls.

Names are not my strong suit, I'll let everyone else handle this one.

Now, as to the Kentares 2.0... really wish I had gone straight for A2 like I was considering instead of B3 last turn.

I'd definitely argue this being worse than Kentares. Kentares was extremely disproportionate retribution for a battlefield casualty killed by someone who had left the planet successfully, and resulted in over 52 million dead, over 90% of the population. This was senseless murder of "hundreds of millions," significantly more than 90% casualties, on a planet that appears to consist primarily of pacifists.

Now, I don't think we can blame IS dracs to the degree of Hostis humani generis for the actions of a group who likely have few if any surviving members who came from the IS, but do agree: we are at war and should prosecute that war to the best of our ability. And the Dracs clearly don't play by the normal rules of war.

As long as we never accept "rogue ronin" as an excuse for their atrocities.

Bottom line: six Killer Whale launchers, twenty-four Naval Laser 55s, eight Naval Autocannon 30s, thirty Heavy Sub-Capital Cannons, six Manta Ray launchers, six Swordfish launchers, eighty Clan Gauss Rifles, forty Rotary AC/5s, forty LB 20-X autocannons, eighty Improved LRM-20s, and eighty Clan Anti-Missile Systems.

She's actually *not* optimized for maximum BV, but rather for balanced in-character capabilities, especially with regard to the tertiary armament -- having a mix of Gauss Rifles, Rotary ACs, and LB-X ACs based on our experience with what the Inner Sphere would consider "Superheavy Assault DropShips" gives it *vastly* superior close-in defenses to any Star League WarShip design.

(Although to be fair, the Star League's answer to close-in defenses is, "More WarShips.")
