How the flying fuck did the Slavers get HPGs less then a decade after us?
Like holy fuck that is straight fiat instead of development because then why did we have to dump research into it if they could just roll it out without a problem as a OPM?
That kinda tech catchup is a thing I fucking hate in Empire quests, oh you got an amazing strategic advantage?
Better roll it out in your neighbors right quick before you roll over them! No consideration on how much effort went into it from our end, just poof, they magically can build, maintain, and use this shit for free.

Carpenter, Cobbler, Chirugeon, Dataminer.
A different agent forwards a report showing that the samples appear to have been given to the Rasalhaguians from NRI commercial partners in exchange for reduced tariff rates.
Oh joy, we have our own Rosenburgs. We should put them up on espionage and a few other charges.

There’s really not much you can do about that. It’s annoying, after all this time keeping double heat sinks out of Rasalhaguian and Roman hands that they’ve gotten access to them anyways thanks to battlefield scavengers. Your agents report that research is going very slowly regardless.
Guys I have an Idea, Since they already have the DHS samples. Why not earn some political goodwill by giving them the tech manuals to the DHS?

Killborough, by all evidence, has *always* been more technologically advanced than we are. Remember, we saw on system survey that they have multiple "doomstack class" system defense stations, i.e. 2.5-million ton maximum battle stations. This directly implies that they at the very minimum have have *full* naval weapons capability (there is no point building stations that huge if you're not loading them with the heaviest-caliber WarShip weapons), and have had it for decades at least.

I would actually propose the opposite: inform the NRI ambassador that we regard this technological leak *by the NRI* as a serious betrayal of the help that they *begged us for*, and that there will be consequences for our diplomatic relations if the companies involved in this are not duly punished. At the very minimum, we will be forced to think twice before aiding them in the future.

This serious national security leak happened because we've been *too soft* towards both the NRI and NRR.

Towards what exactly? The Clans are not coming from our direction and we are so far out in black that no one in the IS knows we exist. Did I miss something?
It pertains to a joke about sending a Merc Company to the Inner Sphere like the Clans did with the Wolf Dragoons, Only instead of being the forefront of an invasion. Ours would merely be recon with options. I am mostly the one who keeps the idea going since I do in fact want to send such a company. but at this point its irrelevant since we have more important threats to be dealing with.

That's not how property ownership works in reality *or* in BTech. Even with mercenary groups, salvage rights are something that's negotiated in advance, not fiat.

More to the point, we're a sovereign superpower. International law is what we say it is. They took advantage of our emergency help to steal extremely valuable tech from us; any response other than *at least* diplomatic sanctions is literally showing them that we're suckers to be taken advantage of.

Edit: Just as in real life, friendly diplomatic relations are never friendly to the point where another nation *won't* take advantage anytime opportunity presents itself.

I have to agree with Shadow here, we have bent over backwards to be the nice guys of this lunatic convention. Sometimes that works to our advantage but their are somethings we need to throw our weight around for. Making sure classified military technology is not openly traded by a supposed ally is definitely a point that has to be driven home very clearly. We do not have to pull a Terran Hegemony and kill everyone involved including their dogs, but shrugging this off is equally nonsensical.

I would disagree, the IS had samples of DHS for centuries and it took them getting their hands on data cores to actually "crack" how to make more of them.
