Cyberpunk 2033

Ch I. The Haul

VictortheMonarch

Victor the Crusader
Welcome to my baby, my sweet puppy. Been cooking this one up for a bit (no doubt accelerated by Edgerunners). I personally love Cyberpunk and it's Universe, and originally just wanted to cook up a snazzy SI, you know; the lazy works. Then I figured that it would be impossible, that an SI would generally say "Fuck it" and never slot in the shard, off Deshaun and ride into the sunset with Panam's sweet thighs. So I cooked up this puppy. Set WAY before 2077 and WAY after 2023, I intend to have fun with this. Expect updates every once in a while, as I work everyday but Thursday and Friday, and may have to work the occasional 16 hour shift (I work for the State, and as such it's non-negotiable).

Now for a few ground rules on this thread, and it's following storyline.

1. No breaking Sietch rules, it's hard to do so, but still
2. If you don't like the story, or just plain disagree with something, don't be an ass. leave a comment and if you disagree with something, or see a problem with the story. Most of the time I'm buckass tired so don't expect perfection.
3. Don't be a comment hog. I can understand if you're like me and don't like to put multiple quotes in one comment, but don't have five or more comments in a row. It clutters the threads.

Those are my three Golden Rules, now, onto the Story.

2033, Night City

Night City, one of the bleakest motherfucking places ever.

Damned Seventeen years since I found myself in this cyberpunk hellscape, and by God I will never forgive that fucker that hit me with his car. Pulling out of the Victorino Apartment complex, I pulled my rustbucket Galena G100 onto the streets, and pulled out onto Mission. It was going to be a long day.

Mr. Victorino is my... boss. He runs a two-bit gang that in all honesty would probably be eaten up by the much larger gangs if it wasn't for the gang being so pathetic. that is if you can really call it a gang. It's mostly people Victorino has indebted to him, like me. Mr. Victorino is a right bastard, but one that knows how to lay his hooks well...

"Daniel, where are we off to? You didn't really relay what the Boss gave to us."

"I told you Jim, you just weren't Listening."

"Oh." Jim said, as I sighed. focusing on traffic I looked at him. "Listen, and listen close Jimster, I'm not repeating myself. We're to go to Watson, 'Acquiring' a Semi hauling some old tech off the Tyger's Claws, then Delta back and sell whatever has Victorino's panty's in a twist, Capice?" I say, turning to him. As he nodded, but hesitated for a minute. "Spit it out." I said, sighing as traffic once again crawled to a halt.

"We're going again'st the Tyger's Claws? Isn't that a bit... Dangerous? They're supported by Arasaka!" Jim said, before continuing. "Hell, a job of this size... we need at least four or five more guys!" He said, as I rubbed my forehead. "You think I didn't tell Victorino? He told me to make due, and not to cock it up. But don't worry, I have a plan." I said, reaching back and pulling out a few charges.

"These are Z27 Charges." I said, as Jim practically perked up. "Big Boom?" he asked, to which I nodded. "Big Boom." I said, as we crossed Watson Bridge. "Now get ready, we need to do some scouting, and the Chop Shop is just ahead." I said, as we pulled aside the road. Really if we're to get this done we'll need a distraction, which is why we have the charges. If I can pull attention away from the Semi and then grab it? Biz will be good.

"Jim, I want you to go plant the charges on the other side of the Facility, Do not get caught." I said, turning to the Semi, hands on my Nue. "Only set the charges off when you're out of range this time, okay? Don't want you to end up like Rayder did." I sighed, rubbing my head. Jim nodded, taking the Z27 and looked around. "Alright, we a go?" Jim asked, as I nodded. "We're a go. I'll sneak in, then when you blow the charges, I'll slip in the truck, hot wire her, and delta the fuck out." I say, before moving towards the back, as I slip into the Cluck-a-Fuck, I nearly get caught by a Tyger, but a quick knife to the throat solves that issue.

shuffling through Cluck-a-Fuck I finally come to the Garage, where the semi is being held, but not without finding my own problems.

"Henry, I swear to god If you don't get this stupid doors lock picked this minute I'm going to-" I hear a woman's voice loudly whisper. looking around it seems there are quite a few Tyger's Claws laying dead on the floor, as I see some dumbheads trying to pick the door on Semi. A Latino woman and a Asian, both look to be in their late teens to early twenties, both quite eagerly and loudly discussing their plans. Morons, if they keep that up the alarm will go off, the Krauz Aurem C29 has an anti-lockpick system in it. "Do you want to explain to Rogue why the merch was lost? If I am not careful we'll destroy any chances of us getting it, so shut up!"

The key has to be here somewhere, the Tyger's Claws are many things, but original is not one of them. Looking around the counters I spot a pair of keys, hmph, show time.

Finally the big bang goes off, though a little closer than I expected. "What the hell was that?!" the girl asked, as the guy sighed. "Probably blew themselves up." 'Henry' says, as the girl shoves him "Why are you being so nonchalant!? They could swarm this place any minute now!" She says, as the Semis Alarm begins to go off. "God damnit Mary! You've got us both killed!" 'Henry' says, as I pick the time to slip the keys in on the passenger side, slipping into the Aurem and sliding over to the drivers seat, right as a dozen Tyger's Claws enter the Garage, I quickly start the engine bust through the garages door, and through the gate outside, not even leaving a moment for them to realized what had happened. Pulling off Kennedy and off onto Palm View, then the Palm View Bridge I call Jim, only for him to not pick up.

I call again, only for him to leave me on the call again. Shit's getting concerning. Did that fucker blow himself up too? I swear, if he got caught... better to warn Victorino, I give him a Dial, and he quickly picks up. "Victorino here, what do you need Linder? Didn't cock up anything did you?" he asked, his voice dripping with the usual venom, but there was something... else. Was it Fear?

"No, I happened to get out just fine, but Jim... he won't pick up and I'm worried he got caught." I said, as Victorino cursed under his breath. I pull out onto Skyline. "Okay Linder, here's what you're going to do, you are going to pull into a parking lot, and get out and drive the goods direct to me. Most of the Tyger's Claws don't know what exactly was in the Semi, so we shall use that to our Advantage. And don't drive directly home. take it for a spin for a bit, then bring it here. Do not disappoint." He said as he cut the line. Sighing I pull into a parking lot and drive direct to the top.

Getting out of the Semi I grab my bolt cutters and get to work. the chain gives me a light struggle, but eventually gives, falling uselessly to the ground. I slide open the doors and gawk in amazement. Most of these car's were scrapped, used for the metal for the old Corporate Wars. Popping the hood it seems it's engine has been swapped for a Quadra Type-31, probably due to the cheaper engine and the sheer lack of parts. Real shame it isn't an exact replica.

driving out of the parking lot, I drive right past a few vans, presumedly Tyger's Claws. I look into the mirror as I watch them converge onto the Parking lot entrance, before disappearing into the lot. I sigh, before disappearing onto Pacific. God damn was that close. They must've been tailing me. guess I might need to drive a bit. Oh well, might disappear into Pacifica a bit, lay low.

I give Jim another call, to which I am once more met with Silence. Fuck.

"So you, the thieves, had a multi-million dollar car stolen from you right as you yourselves were stealing it?" Rogue said, as Mary nodded. "Fucker set a bomb off, stirred the whole nest up into a frenzy. then this doofus botched the lockpick." Mary poked at Henry, as Henry rolled his eyes. "I nearly had the pick, just needed a moment more, but someone just had to shove me." He responded derisively.

"You're both idiots. didn't do your due diligence like idiots, I swear when you get excited you two forget to read the notes I send." Rogue said, downing the glass of Silverhand. "Remind me to always take my cut up front from here on, lost a big score here because you two couldn't think." she said, motioning for the waiter to give some more over.
