Yep, its becoming pennant race time. And I figured, we need a baseball thread. So here it is! Comment here on all things Baseball!

Not really knowledgeable about the game, but I do enjoy going out to watch a game of baseball on a rare occasion. Find it to be a relaxing and fun sport to watch.

How about a twist to the sport....replace the baseballs with a similar object, say M26 frag grenades? Pull the pin, and pitch!! Now the batter has LOTS of motivation to hit the "ball"...!

Of course, there's a small issue for whoever catches the "ball"....

Never was a fan. In fact I have never watched a full game until a few weeks ago.

Went to dollar dog night, at progressive stadium (indians) and had a great time! I took my thc vape (friends were drinking, I'm 2+ years sober from alcohol) and got good and stoned and ate 5 hot dogs and some dippin dots thoroughly enjoyed the game.

They had a really nice fireworks show set to music after, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of woodstock

I've got season tickets for the D-Backs... who can't seem to decide if they are a wildcard caliber team or not! They seem to be more variable than a random number generator in terms of offense, especially at Chase Field, and our pitching is... inconsistent at best, especially our bullpen.

But the games are fun, we have insanely good seats (diamond level right on the third base line behind the plate)

What does everyone think of the idea about adding a "pitch clock", much like how basketball has a shot clock? That is, it requires the pitcher to make a pitch at the batter within X amount of time.

They sort of have one. There is a timer for the pitcher to get set on the mound, however because of things like runners being able to steal bases and such it can take time for a pitch to happen. The biggest source of delay is actually batters calling time in attempts to rattle the pitcher.

Nice team, but they seem to be cursed when they visit our house (seriously, that last series here at Chase against the DBacks LOL)

We so ain't making the playoffs this year, got no offense, and a good chunk of the pitching staff is either playing hurt or on the IL. Not a recipe for success!

At least your guys don't flip a coin before each game to decide if they're a playoff quality team or a tanking team like my DBacks!

My condolences. But hey, when you have a team that is tanking that hard, every game you win is like the World Series! (trying to be positive)

And at least you aren't the Dodgers, winning the games, hated by everybody with functional brain cells.

It's not just that they blew them, it's HOW they blew them. They looked like a little league team out there playing against MLB players, not like they belonged in the majors. I know that the O's are deliberately tanking until they unload all the dead money they have on the books, but good lord! And their farm system isn't any better either.
