Critical Race Theory In Schools

While true, moral righteousness does not need to equal not having money to spend.

Saying 'you cannot take it with you with you die' completely ignores that people often accumulate wealth so their kids will have it after they are gone, not so they can take it with them to the afterlife.

Equating money with evil is partly the reason commie arguments get so much traction; commie philosophy is not so different from Christian dogma as either would like to acknowledge.
That's the thing, people do make a living and retirement off that stuff while using it, and not just the people who directly make those products making a living off them. I've met and worked with plenty of upright people in the legal weed industry, and more than a few vets, wand it is one of the few areas of new economic growth in a lot of towns.

There are plenty of towns in rec states where the first new business to open in a small, seemingly dying town in decades is a dispensary. Which will pull more business to a town, because people may want to shop for other things before or after they get their weed.

Weed grows also regularly have to call on HVAC/electrician/fire code/plumber services, as do breweries/distilleries, and pharma plants.

I mean fucking Willie Nelson has his own weed brands, as does Snoop, and how many celebs have done spots for beer companies or pharma brands?
I have not spoken against weed in this thread, and I am all for ending American marijuana prohibition at the federal level. I'm not against reasonable consumption of alcohol either, or against buying useful consumer goods, or responsible use of prescription medicines, or having a car or house.

What I am against is the 'consoomer' mindset in which, because there is nothing other than consumption of things which may be purchased, money becomes a fake god.

Then where is the line?

Where does wanting to have enough money to do more than just cover the basic necessities transform into someone becoming Mr Burns?

When it consumes your life
Money makes the world go round, and money is (usually) a universally agreed upon value that bartering chickens for goats doesn't have.

And does not working for wages, instead of being directly paid food and the like, mean that most of the world outside the few remaining hunter/gatherers has had their lives consumed by need to make/get money to get supplies to live, even if the mondern monetairy system has streamlined it a lot.

This is part of why the Left was able to get shit like CRT into the curriculum in the first place. The seeds of the anti-capitalist mindset that Marx created were planted by the whole 'cannot take wealth with you' idea, which itself misses the 'leave stuff to your kids' part of things. Ranting against 'consoomers' and effectively sounding like Right Wing commies (it's a thing, due to horseshoe theory of politics) just makes it harder to justify some rhetorical criticisms of actual commie ideology.

As the good book says, the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil.

If one checks the original word used for love, it's a variant on philia, which is sometimes called the strongest form of love. We used it as the rule of the modern suffix "phile" for words like pedophile. That is to say, this isn't "love" on the scale of "I'd love a tuna sandwich right now" or "I love reading a good book on a rainy day."

So how much love is that for money? Essentially you get biblical "love of money" when making more money is as important or more so than the lives of your wife, husband, or children. Typically, that means it's the most important thing possible in your life.

The line is is where a man starts loving money instead of loving people and God. There's no dollar value or equivalent gold or bitcoin value, it's not about how much -- it's about how a man views it. I can actually (lol) vouch for the existence of a man who earns a lot but does not love money, he doesn't live large or build his life around it, he gives much of it to those who need it (charity) and saves it against future need (prudence).

If you're looking for some external marker, I'll offer this: when a man leaves an obligation unfulfilled so as to get more money, and his needs (food/water/shelter/clothes and maybe vehicle) are already met, it's quite likely because he loves money.

To elaborate on what others have been saying:

When money becomes the objective itself, rather than the means to an end.

Healthy life is about relationships, with God and with our fellow man. If money is serving these relationships, then it is in its proper place. If those relationships are serving our pursuit of money, things have gone wrong.

So 'I want a higher income so that I can take better care of my family, give to the poor, and have a modest sum left for a few personal luxuries' is healthy.

'I want a higher income because I have not achieved sufficiently high status, my desire for fancy things is not fulfilled,' or more memetically 'I need money for hookers and blow,' that is not healthy.

Money absolutely does not make the world go round, that attitude is a usurer's wet dream.

Money does not grow anything. Money does not build anything. Money does not think anything. Money does not do anything. If these things are not done, money is in fact utterly worthless... and money can't do any of these things, only people can. Money is a convenience for trade, no more and no less.

Try buying food when food has not been grown and see how far money gets you.

While true, money is the only practical way (barter is impractical, certainly not over the scale of a tiny village at most) to exist as more than a hunter-gatherer, or maybe a toiling farmer at best.

I agree that "falling in love with money" for its own sake is deeply unhealthy to both the individual and society, but hating money is equally stupid. Money doesn't grow anything by itself, but it sure as hell encourages people to grow more than they otherwise would, and a lot more besides.

It is not the promise of a gold coin or green paper that encourages any healthy man to work, it is the promise of earning goods and services. Money is not equivalent to goods or services, it is strictly a temporary agreement, and one which has often ended abruptly. See: Argentina, Zimbabwe, and many, many others.

As for the gift economy, it is a fine thing to cultivate. Cuts the moneylenders out of the loop entirely.

Here is a perfect example of why these communists deserve the rope:

>"Trans boy" rapes girl in school bathroom
>Girl's father arrested at school board meeting for talking about it
>They refuse to address it, afraid of it "impacting" the school's "Transgender and Anti-Racist" reputation and policies
>Gag order placed on dad.
>He is used as example of "domestic terrorism"
>"Trans boy" allowed back to school, promptly rapes again.

While I do not approve of the death penalty, at the very least that entire school board needs to be charged with aiding and abetting that rapist.

Fuck me, the Christian zealots here are parroting lines that could've come straight from the mouth of AOC or any of the other progressive commies. Horseshoe theory in action.
And here we have someone acting out like the ancient stereotype of being a Jew obsessed with money. Can you not insult your fellow posters faith unless you are ok with having yours insulted?
