Colbert talk show staffers caught snooping around after-hours at Republican offices.

So.....yeah, this happened.

Not quite sure what to make of this yet, but these clowns were caught taking pics and video around the offices of Kevin McCarthy and Lauren Boebert, no less.

If this was something they planned for a comedy segment, they chose a real dumbass way to go about it. But I can't see them as being this stupid.

I would keep an eye on this story. Something smells, and it's not the fish.

EDIT: Edited to say "around the offices", unclear if they gained access to the offices or not.

We're let into the Capital Offices by people that work for Adam Schiffty no less

Which again raises my hackles. They were let back in around 4 PM by an aide to Rep. Jake Auchincloss, D-Mass. And then got caught roaming around the offices around 8:30 Pm.....so what happened between those hours, where else were they potentially snooping?

This stinks worse than seven-year-old sauerkraut.

So....call me crazy, but here's a theory? Colbert's staffers are obviously pretty chummy with the Dems.

Midterms are coming up and the Dems are likely chugging down Alka-Seltzer like it was vodka from all the stress knowing all the indicators are pointing to a potential Red hurricane in November. So, how best to plan for it?

Well....why not take something out of Nixon's playbook from the Watergate days and have some "friends" that aren't necessarily part of the political machine, but are sympathetic enough, friendly and well known enough with the "right people" and thus might have a way to get access and do some deep reconnaissance into the enemy HQ, as it were??

Now, again, this could all be about some staffers doing something rather stupid, but again, the timing, the personas involved, etc. all stinks to high heaven. I would keep an eye on this one.

And nothing will come of this, just like every other Dem indiscretion against the GOP, and Schiff will continue to get away with anything he wants because of his place on the intel committees.

We live in a two-tiered society, with one standard for Dems and their supporters, and one harsher standard for anyone who opposes them.

Dude....seriously, wait for the story to play out FIRST before making doomsday predictions???

Please point to any real instance of Dem indiscretion towards the GOP/Right that has gotten any meaningful legal backlash in DC since 2016.
I was having fun with both of you. I figure our relationship can take a little ribbing.

To seriously address your question: a few cases in Texas where election fraud has been prosecuted and convictions happened.

My sense of humor about people getting angry with me for not going along with the Right Wing cope parade has run rather thin.

I've spent years trying to warn people on the Right what the real mindsets and goals of the Left are, and particularly since the Wu Flu and stolen election showed the lengths they are willing to go to.

I have seen very little from the Right that seems like the Dems don't already have counters for and many on the Right don't like to admit the Left is far more clever and persuasive than they like give the Left credit for.

However you are right about the stuff in Texas, which is why it is one of the few places I still think matters and can disrupt the Dems plans, if the state GOP ever stops self-sabotaging by putting Dems in chair positions out 'chivarly to the minority party', when no Dems state senates do anything like that as far as I know.

I worry that we could see a Blue Texas in several months, though Morales's election does give me reason for some hope. I just do not believe in inflating what I see as likely false hopes, and think that a lot of people here really do not get, or at least want to aknowledge hos shit the situation truly is, particularly those who are stuck under contract to the gov presiding over the 'managed decline' of this nation.

The elite want one world gov, they want the 500 million stable population limit and transhuman cyberization human-to-AI uploads, where our bodies become effectively chrylisis for immortal uploaded consciousness, and only the 'elite' get things like meat and air travel.

They do not want off planet colonization schemes, even for Mars, because they know light lag is a limit they cannot bypass, and someone imitating Marco Inaros is a very real threat to them.

Right, okay, so back to Earth...and an update to the story.

Supposedly, the crew was filming vignettes for an upcoming show, and supposedly decided to stay on after the building was closed to the public, albeit without passes and credentials, and hence trespassing. Seems they were filming around the offices of several Republicans but unclear if they got into any of the offices or not. This blurb from Fox News:

A spokesperson for CBS told Fox News that Triumph the Insult Comic Dog was on-site at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday and Thursday to record interviews for a comedy segment on behalf of "The Late Show," and said the interviews were authorized and pre-arranged with Congressional aides.

The spokesperson said that members of the production team stayed to "film stand-ups" and other comedy elements in the halls when they were detained.

"On Wednesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 16, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog was on-site at the Capitol with a production team to record interviews for a comedy segment on behalf of ‘The Late Show.’ Their interviews at the Capitol were authorized and pre-arranged through Congressional aides of the members interviewed," the spokesperson said. "After leaving the members’ offices on their last interview of the day, the production team stayed to film stand-ups and other final comedy elements in the halls when they were detained by Capitol Police."

Again, though, my problem with this is, why the hell were they staying this late around the building without credentials, or unescorted? You'd think if they were chummy enough with the Dems and their staff getting the proper credentials to be there after hours wouldn't have been an issue.
