Meh whether homosexuality is or is not a mental illness is open to debate just like body dysmorphia sub varrient gender dysmorphia it was removed from the DSM because of politics.
However the bolder part fuck yes I agree with that fuck Truman for stopping MacArthur a United Korea that is not under control of an insane god king would have been great. Instead a nation is partitioned with half its people forced into starvation and indoctrination.

There might be an uptick in homosexuality due to the lack of mating opportunities. The gender gap is going to suuuuuck.
And that is why it is so repulsive to see people say this is a good thing, or that we shouldn't care because it's another nation.

That was always bullshit. Genocides happened before the Holocaust like with the Armenians and after like with Rwanda, and Israel wasent acting any different than other nations at the time. People have their own problems to deal with never again at most means Jews won’t end up in danger of going extinct but that’s because they were smart enough to develop nuclear weapons which can hit anyone who tries going after them rather than something like we are no longer going to commit genocide as a species.

Because the same excuse of 'it's another country' when it comes to why we shouldn't care what they do to gays, can just as easily be applied to any atrocity.

First off I doubt it, China does not have an Abrahamic influence on it's culture. It's influences on the people are either Buddhist, or communist. Neither are pro gay, but neither do they necessarily find it to be a terrible crime, more weird or at worst selfish. Now they may face discrimination but I doubt they will be executed like you are insinuationg.
But even if they did so what? The same is happening in Iran(which we oppose) and Saudi Arabia(who we support) are gay Chinese more important to you than gay arabs? Why are Chinese suppose to be more "civilized" and tolerant or something? I really don't get it, is this just an excuse to bitch about China? If China is our rival because we are competing against them because for resources and influence in the Pacific we should just be up front that we are their rival because of economics and resources, we should not pretty up our words and try to adopt liberal values which just makes us look like hypocrites.
Hey, if we could rid ourselves of the Saudi's horrible treatment of homosexuals (and really a lot of people), I'd be all for it.

I don’t think that the USA should do anything, in terms of official policy, about persecution of gays in China or elsewhere. We can still disapprove and condemn such persecution, but trying to force other people to run their countries the way we want ends badly.
China's economy is going to crash and crash hard sooner or later and the leadership knows it, they are in the mysts of a nationwide crack down and it is going to get a whole lot worse.

We can. Like it's not a question of need, they are not the powerful nation, we have to appease. We aren't Romania, or Finland during ww2 where we have to pick between the Nazis or the Commies because if we don't the other will attack us. We are with them because of convenience. Nations are basically giant tribes, humans come together for protection that is why be band together collectively there is no reason to be cruel to other tribes or attack them without a good reason, but there is also no reason to care about them either, unless they are allies. It's cheaper to have the Saudi's as a client, that's all the reason we need. We can ally with those who are immoral if it aligns with our national interests. Hell even the Europeans who people say that the British and other western europeans are America's greatest friend, if we followed your line of thought to the extreme I could make the argument that we should not be friends with the British because they don't allow free speech in their nation. But no one seems to be considering this.
