It'll take a while with the arseholes in Wallstreet, Zurich and others telling clients now is the time to invest in China. Several of these investment managers doing so are fiduciaries. I'm thinking they were bribed.

Um were pretty much in for a global mass recession not just in china but across the entire world because the boomers have been retiring in massive numbers, because of 2 years of fucking lockdowns and decades of economic mismanagement and irresponsibility everywhere.

While they might have been bribed their going to have some real fucking problems soon.

Eventually. But they've funneled trillions into China since the pandemic started. It will keep the CCP funded for the time being. Hopefully the revolts succeed but I've seen too many revolts in the CCP crushed by the army to be optimistic.

Shit is getting real.

Lol posted that yesterday 🤣. Yeah the problem is convincing the PLA soldiers to defect or stand aside. PLA bases are all positioned to respond to uprisings in Urban centers. Every Tier One, and Tier Two city has at least one military base with artillery and armor beside it. Regional capitals have two or more. Beijing has a lot of bases in range.

The PLA are not the nation's army. It's the CCP's private force. It's officers are appointed according to their zealotry and commitment to CCP dogma and their own family connections.

Officially China the nation only have "volunteer militias." Officially. In practice they are plain clothes secret police.

Lol. This is why you don't mandate mass production of sports teams such as football when you don't understand the game. Especially when your players don't have love or passion for the game and are only there because refusing means serious consequences for their families.

They used football as a tool for politics and graft. The players are chosen for family names and red envelopes to the coaches. Trust a communist to fuck up one of the most simplest games to exist. Village kids back home have more passion and skill than the Chinese National team. Of course they scapegoated the head coach so the higher ups in the organization can escape punishment.

Is it really that big of a deal to be bad at a sport? America tends to suck at soccer too and we seem to do just fine.

Yeah you are right. Besides Hockey is the superior sport anyway. At least you can get a fight out of Hockey.

That's the huge difference between normal countries and totalitarian powers with delusions of grandeur. If USA loses in some sport, doesn't get to organize olympics, or whatever, oh well, who cares.
In China however, the implication is that the CCP wanted to win this and failed, hence they got beaten, so it's humiliation for the leadership and it made them look weak, there have to be consequences.
Same goes for places like Russia, North Korea and Qatar. They *really* care about these world sport events that come with implied global approval beyond what normal governments care about them. It's also why they reach for bribery or doping so often - winning is not optional, losing is no less of a career ender to the people in charge of sport than getting caught. It's not fun and games for them, it's a matter of regime security.

The Chinese government doesn't even train their soccer players properly. They still have that militaristic mindset in it, and as I recall, soccer practices don't involve military marches.
