So, this is a thread to reflect on, celebrate and joke about a ten month long wild ride where we have just moved into position as the third largest (albeit much smaller than 1 and 2) of the daughter or splinter forums of spacebattles. We now stand poised ready to continue growth, and with this milestone I just want to celebrate a moment the accomplishment that we all collectively made in spite of the continuous efforts to repress and slander us. It means among other things that we had more posts in the past 10 months than stardestroyer.net did in the past 3.5 yrs, and in fact, we're running at 11% of the traffic of alternatehistory.com at present.
SDN Still has people on it? and to think that is how I found SB
I still regret only hearing about everything that happened well after the fact; I would have loved to have been in that PM. Also having that Founder banner under my username would be kinda cool too; though there's something to be said for being in that first wave to show up after the grand opening.
The PM then went to a Discord, for those that wanted it. When FriedCFour got banned for I think a year, he was there in the Dicsord so he could talk to those who were in the PM still.

The Discord is how I at least found out about this site. When Zoe, if she was apart of the Discord, or the other Admins were, put a link and boom, I joined. I got the founder tag right before it was gone.
Well I am glad i picked the Founder Of the Dominion the Sietch tag when the site was first made. I only go to SB for my other Star Trek Online Thread and that is about it.
I am on here and SB daily. on SB I mainly stay to General and VS and never ever go to Whitehall, and the only Whitehall thread i was apart of I got banned from.

Here I am a lot more active, post a lot more, and have started general threads

I should have expected that really
If the PM was a fraction as bad as they want to say it is they wouldn't have needed to fake most of the content. As huge as that thing was they got what? three or four actual instances of bad material? Think SB in general has a ratio like that?

My main issue with it and fundamentally why I at least ended up here was applying rules retroactively. The rules they applied to judge that PM were not the standard PM rules which are much looser. There was never any comment or statement that the PM would be held to different rules, so applying a harsher standard after the fact looks a lot like a trap.

There was at least one left leaning mod who was leaking like a sieve and apparently nobody spotted that until after. There was a lot of stuff which needed to get hit hard in that scenario, from compromised staff to potential account hacking (which they warned about a few weeks later) to general mob behaviour among sections of the board which wasn't managed particular effectively. The worst issue was official statements echoing the mob by using terms like Alt Right. When your boss starts talking like the mob then it is time to go.

My resignation was announced a while later but I handed in my notice the morning after all this happened as soon as I saw the initial response. I did try to say privately what this would result in, and it turned out I was right, but nobody cared. I could not in good conscience serve anyone who treated their staff in such a way.

I think you and I resigned about the same time. By that point it was clear they weren't going to stand by us and instead just throw us under the bus to save themselves. SB doesn't have a solid history of handling these kind of things and I can only wonder what the next crisis will bring. But its not our problem anymore.

I only got to be on the PM for around 3-4 months before everything blew up, but it was a fun experience. Occasionally, a few (specific) people got out of line, but the mods always talked them down and there was no need to ban anyone, and instead of building up resentment I felt like those people actually learned why what they said was wrong. That PM was a truly liberating experience. Also the first time I didn't feel mods rulings were arbitrarily slanted against me just because I fit or don't fit certain boxes in their minds.

The next crisis is going to hit the furthest left wing posters in Space battles.

They have a lot of open Antifa members now, Antifa is now classified as a domestic terrorist organization, Canada's anti terroism laws make America's laws look tame, SB is on a Canadean server. The minute one concerned state department worker makes a call to Canada is the minute the owner of the websight gets a visit from a man in a suit.

After that there will be a frenzied fear fueled purge that will make your head spin.

That depends on whether or not they’ll actually enforce it

Especially with guys like Trudeau around and the USA still having lots of Far Lefties in power

Trudeau isn't going to risk Canada's econmy for a domestic terror group.

He know exactly how America responds to that kind of thing.....

Depends on whether or not he's that smart, in this day and age wherein satire and reality are nearly one, I can expect him to dig his head in the sand to protect them

I doubt anything will happen until after the election is over; they're probably hoping Biden will win and pardon all of Antifa, or something like that.

I think a lot of the world is hoping that there will be a return to the global order of the past.

The thing is even if Trump loses that order is not coming back. American's might be willing to give up blood and treasure for people who respect them or even people who are indifferent but asking American's to die for people who hold us in contempt is a tall order.

Koreans and Japanese who dont like our military presence, a lot of Japanese and a large group of Koreans, even know they respect and allow us there knowing we will die and fight for them no matter what.
