No... it's not the first COD: Black Ops Game which took place during the Cold War... but a COD Black Ops Cold War game that takes place during the Cold War.

They released a teaser trailer yesterday.

The trailer is causing quite a stir due to a quote from a famous KGB defector named Yuri Bezmonov providing a voiceover for the trailer as well as strong allusions to the present day. A larger game reveal will follow in a week, on August 26th.

The Falklands are Serbian, you cowards.
I didn't expect something so based to come form Activision

I was excited too, but in retrospect I'm not so sure anymore. The whole "Russian assets subverting the US government" story they're going for would totally be catnip to Russia Collusion lefties if you imagine Trump as the "big promises" government that Bezmenov speaks of. I'm beginning to suspect this Cold War Russian subversion angle will lead to some vague references about how they managed to get "Perseus" elected president in the end, but who knows, maybe they're trying to get back some of the players they've lost over the years.

I'm tired of those giving second chances and thinking something will be “based” now, and I'm tired of not being able to enjoy normal things anymore. I'm tired of giving my money to people that hate me.

As naive as this sounds, I want to believe.

The Yuri Bezmenov thing strikes me as being a marketing thing. Their probably hoping it will generate buzz on his importance in right wing circles, which will attract the media, which will lead to cultural strife.

But the sort of "big promises" government is supposed to be giving things like lots of welfare money and social programs

Otherwise, why bother making the population Far Left if the Russians will have to deal with a "Far Right" government that hates them and maybe far more likely to attack them?

Then again, doubt they're that smart or intended this

Them bringing Mason, Woods, and Hudson back is a pleasant surprise that actually piques my interest in the story somewhat. Although with this being an interquel, I suspect it will feel a bit odd, knowing that Menendez comes along to fuck all their lives up later on.

Besides that, kudos for mainstreaming Yuri Bezmenov. Calling it that he'll be playable in the new Zombies mode.

Kids today don't even remember the sacrifices that heroes like Chief Bowman and Grigori Weaver made.

Hopefully this game cinematic interactive campaign experience will rekindle interest in our shared history before it is forgotten.

Does that include console vs PC? Because I don't think that would be a good idea.
They did it for MW.

Also ir seems Activision is changing history as in MW all the bad things are done by Russians, yet alperently America did it all irl.
Either that or the left things COD has to work for them...

CW shows it does not

I’m extremely miffed they added a “classified” for mythological third genders. Like for one this isn’t going to satisfy Bongos, and two fuck why do we have to pander to their delusions at all?

Not to mention, I’ve seen lots of cries of “this game won’t address american imperialism”, you know standard leftist boilerplate when it comes to the Cold War.

But whatever.

I may buy this game on Steam, I may not,

Played the game today...it was good, but heavily leaned towards stealth mechanics and the plot/atmosphere was definitely good enough to keep me interested/Intrigued, I just feel like the ending was abrupt and left too many questions over answers to begin to satisfy me.
