Someone in Hyundai made an oopsie.

Mainly by pissing off their second biggest export market since Hyundai has opened factories and even a R&D Center in India when Hyundai Pakistan (a comparatively much smaller market) issued this posted on Social Media.

#BoycottHyundai is now trending on Social Media from many very perturbed Indian/Hindu posters and users. Hyundai India (after engaging in a flurry of blocking numerous critics including many with Blue Checkmarks) issued an explanation that didn't specifically include an apology.

Not a good ratio...

Now there's demands that Hyundai actually clarify its stance on Kashmir and its ownership since they decided to insert themselves into the discussion. :sneaky:

For market comparison, reportedly Hyundai sold over a half million cars in India... and eight thousand in Pakistan during the same time frame.

South Korean higher ups are probably confused and disoriented about how much of a mess this can be. Unless a major boycott or political intervention in India happens i think they will try to just have it die down.
One wonders when major corporations will learn to shut up when it comes to politics, and stop trying to virtue signal at every opportunity.

Woke Culture getting out of control over there ?

Well Hindus in India would probably perceive pro-Muslim messaging as their version of "Woke." I've certainly heard such sentiments expressed before. So having Hyundai Pakistan expressing solidarity with Pakistani Kashmir would likely fall into it.

Worse, it wasn't directly about religion, it was about a contested territory, with war and terrorism in background. Its as if a company in Ireland that is a joint venture with a company that has a major presence in UK said "Remember the sacrifices of our Northern Irish brothers and support their continuing struggle for freedom!". At the height of The Troubles.
Its basically a Hyundai's joint venture with a local company in Pakistan taking a side in a still hot international conflict with terror attacks and firefights happening every few days.

A total creep
what @Husky_Khan wrote - it is almost certainly local management (or lower) doing something on their own.
Like the clowns at Red Bull USA going woke and BLM and getting fired for their efforts.
