Tweet from last May exploding today as a Marine Scout Sniper way back then offered their expertise on the AR-15 platform.

Seemed more amusing for potential lulz as opposed to anything political.

So, a large recoil reducing buffer spring downgrades a rifle to non-regular status?
I'm confused ... and ... and [wobbly lower lip] it won't make pee-pee fall off, will it? [wobbling intensifies]

So guys what is your opinion on the new ATF pistol brace rule? According to some sources up to 40 million gun owners could be affected so by the time the courts make up their mind quite a few gun dealers could be ran out of business, with ATF also having an excuse to dabble in their favorite hobby - shooting dogs.

I think it's bullshit. I mean, I find the special treatment of short-barrelled firearms in general to be bullshit. I'll also note that there was a massive data breach of a company that sold these right before this announcement was made, which looks pretty suspect to me.

Pistol braces were always a weird loophole since they were self-evidently used as a stock that wasn't legally a stock. I am not a fan of weird loopholes; I believe that laws I disagree with should be fought and repealed directly, not worked around.

To be real, given how suspicious it was that bad things always happened around the time of votes on repealing suppressor regulations, I don't have a lot of faith in that working.

Maybe if there's some kind of thing that requires all existing laws to get revoted on or get tossed in the trash. Otherwise, it's easier to work around something than actually repeal it.

wha...why the hell would ANYONE want a muzzleloader?
Because they can.
Also - bigger pee-pee :p

"... and then I put down that grizzly with a single shot from my Golden Eagle pistol ... "
"Meh. Lame. After a misfire I drilled out the bullet, quickly reloaded, tamped down the charge with masterly strokes of my ramrod, and shotted TWO grizzlies dead with a single round!"

Sometimes the local hunting regulations prohibit using any firearm that's not a muzzle loader.

An 1861 Springfield or 1853 Enfield runs around $900 or more. Those are mostly of interest to reenactors, collectors, and history buffs.

Modern muzzle loaders can be had for $200-$300. The linked monstrosity is $1,776 and a "look at the size of my pee-pee" purchase.

Deep State busy at work ...

Marine Corps Veteran Uncle Foxtrot apparently deleted his account. Someone replied with a screenshot of the post that finally slayed him:

Because users would intentionally buy a gun that has terrible recoil? I mean, if you watch any gun review ever one of the key aspects they are going to look at is recoil. Even if it had been real, it's such a worthless comment that doesn't understand how firearms are designed or why people and organizations choose to buy them.

Let's say that this guy was legit, that would mean that his complaint was that the military awarded their service rifle contract to a platform that was comfortable to use and that that platform was popular for the same reason... yeah. To reiterate , that's the complaint.

Honestly the fact I have fired an M-16 before lets me know the kind of lying moron I'm dealing with if anyone claims that it, the AR-15, or any other similar weapons have a large recoil. I'd compare the recoil to the .22lr I shot in my youth.

I probably have shot both, but it would have been a long time ago and not near the same time period. But wouldn't a 556 and 22lr be radically different calibers, both in weight and grain?
