I know it's bad, but it's not "sudden regional destabilization" bad. Although ... the white phosphorous is news I hadn't heard. And a quick search later ... holy shit. Well, the last time they pulled that shit out on a large scale it looks like the lie collapsed in very short order, and we're even more firmly in the age of cell phones and constant recording now, so I expect a lot of evidence to surface pretty quickly if it was done on a large scale.

It's pretty close to sudden regional destabilization bad; there's been fighting in the Al Aqsa Mosque directly with all that entails for wider Jewish-Muslim relations in the Middle East.

So do you favor Palestine losing all foreign aid and being sanctioned as well then?

No because sending food and medical aid to Palestinians civilians isn't the same as supplying Israel with billions of dollars in military aid that they are actively using to commit war crimes and engage in ethnic cleansing.

We probably don’t give aid to Palestine since we don’t recognize it. But if we did yes both Israel and Palestine aren’t are problem. I don’t care what two desert nations far from home do to each other. The evangelical and Israel lobby trying to drag us in there is a problem though.

Israel's not a desert. well, it's not ALL a desert. A lot of it is very fertile, and they even have forests. Calling Israel a desert country would be like calling California a desert state. Or Texas a desert state, for that matter.

Palestine, on the other hand, is pretty much a desert.

Texas used to be dessert. Not anymore though.

I feel like maybe if Palestine hadn't decided to lob 1,700 rockets into Israel along with showing off their new rocket that can reach anywhere in the country, Isreal wouldn't be bombing and invading in return.

But we all know by now that the anti Isreal crowd wants Isreal to just accept rocket attacks and not retaliate.

As I said before on SB, years ago now: The Palestinians are useful cats paws against Israel/the "Jews", despite being viewed as being disgusting parasites by other Arab nations. In the West, the anti-Israel sentiment primarily comes from the country's own poor policies on certain issues (which is understandable: I'm pro-Israel but some of the policies they've enacted are as dumb a shit, IMHO, but that's against the government and not the people itself) and just plain ol' antisemitism (which is against the people).

If they suddenly lacked a use for them, no-one in the Middle-East would care if every Palestinian dropped dead of a heart-attack.

No, Israel is a desert, Texas is a desert. The vast majority of those lands is made up of hot desert. Egypt also has the Nile and oasis that are fertile that does not mean it's not a desert. I don't support BDS but I don't support Israel either. The only reason I care about that region is because it's the holy land. I don't care what the Jews do as long as they don't oppress Christians, and they allow free passage to Christian pilgrims to visit holy sites without harrasing them.

I don't even care about any religious aspects of this being the "holy land" and whatnot - I just maintain that Israel has a right to exist and that it's blatantly obvious that the country is being treated with a double-standard when it comes to it defending itself. Its neighbors are damn lucky they didn't keep the territory they won when all of them ganged up on them in an effort to destroy the country.

Literally giving White House jobs to illegals; this is a massive travesty and frankly is also probably a security issue as well.

And this is after they ousted some of their own folks for marijuana issues just a few weeks ago.

Edit: Maybe it's not jobs at the White House, but illegal are not Americans, and never should be allowed to become citizens if they came into this nation illegally.

Ok so this crisis is bad and this looks bad and this is in the middle of a pandemic and you know the disease problem is a thing so how about we go to the boarder and build a series of buildings or maybe just one long one to make it easier to process people humanly?

We can call it some thing nice like Pared, just one big Pared to keep everything ordely.

If Texas is a desert, why does it have a forestry service and many absolutely beautiful national forests?

Likewise Israel has several beautiful forests (Though if I may engage in a little jingoist nationalism... less beautiful than the ones in Texas). A portion of Israel is desert. Doesn't necessarily make it a desert nation.

People forget just how big texas is, its bigger then Japan, bigger then Germany, and bigger then france.

Its a large state fully capable of having several biomes.
