Yeah whatever. Gibs for all. Better that than sending it overseas or more porking.

Man has a point.

If the US is going to go the route of the public voting themselves bags of money from the public treasury, literally the absolute bare minimum of that agreement is that the money actually go to the public instead of to foreign countries or to the CEOs of the corporations that make the bombs the US is dropping on foreign countries.

So Biden deploys troops on American soil to hold his stolen white house, and feeds them raw food with metal shavings.
For all the eye-rolling nature of the Guard still being deployed to DC like every banana-republic the CIA ever installed a dictator in, metal shavings in Guardsmans food and it being undercooked is on the folks who made it (whether its a commissary they ship it from or private places being ordered from? Not sure) and...like...the fact the Guard is still there creating the opportunity for this is the problem. Biden's admin. had nothing to do with it (barring wild and crazy-eyed stuff of people ordering negligence and stupidity...Which I'm not saying is impossible considering all the zany shit going on, but doesn't seem likely yet).

Dunnow why more states haven't noped their Guard out of the silly DC Green Zone bullshit, honestly. Or, for that matter, why nobody has yet to make any reporting on which state's Guard are still present and which aren't (may exist, but some quick searching didn't net me anything--would be curious if anyone else has any more luck since it's a vaguely-interesting ongoing-story thing that should be getting periodically updated because I know some states, like my own, have pulled Guard out, so...be interesting to know *shrug*).

Indeed. I rather have the money go towards investing towards the public than overseas interest right now when everything is going to shit.

$2000 checks will roll out as soon as he's inaugurated though!
"$2,000 as soon as Biden is inaugurated."
"We're working hard, when not distracted by impeachment, to get you that $1400 you're owed, America!"
"Raytheon needed us to drop some bombs on Syria, folks. But it's okay. We'll get you that $500 right-quick!"
"My fellow Americans, gun-control legislation was very pressing. But you'll have your coupons in the mail soon!"

You're broke and unemployed? Too bad you're still getting taxed you moron and you will remain in debt even when you're dead.

*shrugs*

This is not something that is in any way new; unemployment has been counted as income for tax purposes since the Republicans made it so with reforms 1980s. I can actually see their point on this one; making unemployment income tax-exempt would create a perverse incentive for people to stay unemployed, especially when the special unemployment programs that were put in place for COVID-19 have been downright excessive compared to the great big nothingburger for "essential workers".

Why do I have a feeling that the National Guard will ultimately play a big role in getting rid of Biden and Co. and draining the swamp forever?

Unless democrats pass this voting bill that basically secures their ability to cheat, I think Dems lose hard in midterms and we get a presidential landslide in 2024.

But unless Biden dies or resigns so Kamala can take over, he's not going anywhere. Not by force, at least.

I have a feeling that something will happen before 2024.
Because treating people with guns and military training like shit for long periods of time always goes badly, no matter what century one lives in.
