Not exactly sure Senile Joe and his handlers have thought this through. There's that small country called Russia that has a massive economic, military and strategic stake in Syria and its regime that they won't give up (Syria not only being their foothold in the ME but also being their only military port in the Mediterranean). The past ten years you barely avoided getting into a direct confrontation with them. A Biden admin agressively pursuing its goals (whatever the fuck those might be beats me) in Syria will sooner or later run afoul of them.
And Russia's been taking a stand against China.
The alliance between them is dissolving.

Here's the worst that could happen if nukes aren't involved
US bombs Russian military convoy in Syria, Putin suspends diplomatic relations
Situation devolves into war, except it's China that attacks Russia in OP Barbarossa like opening move with Biden USA staying neutral
Civil War in USA that's quickly won by the forces of the Donald aka OP Swift Justice
USA declares war on ChiComs and together with the Russians results in a swift defeat for China and the end of the ChiComs and Maoism.

if this does actually happen 3 years later, then I really am a fooking prophet and I should probably start my own religion or something

I can tell you right now, a civil war will make us unable to be a world power and the world will fall.
It also would not be a swift victory if a US Civil War happened. It would be a long drawn out conflict with such high casualties that the US would be handicapped and the world would suffer.
Russia would suffer a decent amount if China pushed into them with thier full force. Russia doesn't have the numbers

China invades, nukes fly. Russia can't credibly defend itself from a hypothetical Chinese attack otherwise.

Not true. China would have to go through Mongolia to get a good way to push the limits of Russian forces, and through Siberia they have Winter to help, and can reposition units to defend that way if needed if China started at the place where thier borders meet

I'm not 100% sure if this goes here or the George Floyd thread but as it's a current thing Biden's doing I think it works here better.

I'm rather in favor of this bill, I think most of the provisions are good ones. Mandatory body and dash cams for police and independent investigation of misconduct, away from the DA who would otherwise be working closely with the officer under investigation, are steps I approve of. I also think current qualified immunity is too broad so limiting it is not a bad thing. Mandatory anti-discrimination training I'm less sanguine about but done right I think it wouldn't hurt. Eliminating No-Knock warrants I'm unsure about, I've heard many bad things about them but I'm not sure it's not throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I disapprove of restricting transfers of military equipment to police, as that's a useful way to get rid of certain surplus equipment and I haven't seen anything suggesting it's actually bad beyond people complaining about the aesthetics.

People think military having military equipment is a bad thing, when it isnt. Major crime groups and gangs, need military grade equipment to handle it.
Get rid of the armored vehicles, the armor, weapons, and all.
The first parts are good ideas, the rest are issues

I went over why a minimum wage is a bad idea before. Basically, yes, they can afford it, by not hiring/laying off workers and replacing them with automation. The people it actually harms are the poor.

Automating what jobs, exactly?

Most minimum wage jobs are physical labor that would be very hard to automate.

As for me, I definitely support the plan to raise the minimum wage for $15. I even think some job loss in that area might be a good thing!

I support most of this. Actually all of this minus the restriction against transfers of military equipment.

Automating what jobs, exactly?

Most minimum wage jobs are physical labor that would be very hard to automate.
Ever see one of those automatic checkout lines? A Walmart is open 16hrs a day, 7 days a week. That's 112 manhours/week one of those replaces, which is nearly 3 fulltime jobs per machine. You can actually see all the jobs that aren't there anymore by looking at the empty checkout aisles. Those were only built because they were expected to be manned, and now most are empty.

There used to be a job in every Lays factory where they picked out all the bad looking potato chips. Now the send the patato chips flying down a conveyor belt at 50 mph, off a ramp, into the air, use image recognition to determine which chips are bad, and air jets to push down the bad ones so they can't make the jump. About 2 people operate the entire factory.

And I could go on and on.

But automation isn't even necessary. Basically, every additional manhour increases a companies revenue by less and less (just like any resource, there are diminishing returns). Currently, a company will assign an additional hour of work up until it doesn't make more profit (roughly, at wage/hour = revenue/hour). If we increase the minimum wage, we increase the minimum revenue threshold for a company to assign hours of work, reducing hours.

And the people harmed most by this? The poorest of the working poor, those with the least skills, skills that they could learn by working on the job that they now don't have. And worse, now those higher paying jobs are more attractive to people who would normally not take them, artificially increasing the skills required.

As for physical labor itself, it's getting automated all the time. Better tools, prefabs, etc, all contribute to this.

But most damning of all is where automation isn't, you'll find all the illegal immigrants working for below minimum wage. Why? because the value of the job is below (or very near) minimum wage, so either the manager needs to automate, or break the law. See, illegal immigrants aren't actually stealing many jobs. Minimum wage laws steal jobs.

Here I was talking about it previously:
The $15 dollar minimum wage is a great way to put small businesses out of business as well, especially when they are struggling with the pandemic. But also any minimum wage is a bad idea that harms the poor. For example, even a meta study done by a minimum wage proponent found that 80% of min wage studies found an employment loss. And the study finds that this is compounded when looking at low wage jobs and low education workers. And most min wage hikes are nowhere as severe as this hike.

That meta study is very good, as it also shows that the minimum wage is harsher for people the poorer they are.

All of the real concern about minimum wage laws costing jobs is in Restaurant or Janitorial type jobs, so your examples seem rather bizarre (and they seem even more bizarre in light of what they are inherently. For example, that job in Lays seems like it would be impossible for it to not be better to automate, and at Walmart the shift to automation is more a reflection of long term managerial goals than it is due to minimum wage. Indeed, it would probably benefit Walmart to hire more checkout people, but Walmart doesn't want to because it wants to push automation specifically.)

Physical labor is also incredibly impractical to automate outside of factories or fulfillment centers and the like.

Also, I'd like to reiterate that I would support some job loss when it comes to these sorts of things.

Where did you get the idea that minimum wage laws were targeted at physical labor? They very much aren't, they are targeted at low paying jobs. Some physical jobs are low paying, but others aren't (plumbing, for example). Also, no, the real concern isn't only about restaurant or janitorial jobs, it's about a lot of jobs, all jobs which earn under $15 an hour. Maybe if it was a raise to $9 that would be the case, but that isn't the case here.

For example, in Mississippi, the median income is under $15 an hour.

The news media absolutely positively did everything they could for Biden.

They deliberately squashed stories about sexual assaults, his sons actions, corruption and a whole host of things. They basically carried him for the duration of the election and then afterwards openly sucked his dick.

And then he knifes them in the back.

This is wow....crap that is vicious, even Trump didn't do this to the media and he hated them. Top ten anime bretayls right here man.

It was pretty obvious it was coming. With Trump gone, some of them might actually start doing something resembling actual reporting. Ideally they would like reporting/real news to not exist and for everything to just be party approved memos that are reported to the general public, like a company newsletter.

"You have to pay for your own COVID tests" isn't on its face unreasonable, though? Trump didn't do it because he wasn't requiring testing.
