no optional enclave ending and before anybody says but Fallout-Man101 the Enclave are pricks! To that I say the game allows you to join a literal gang of slavers if you wish so that doesn't hold water and adding a Enclave quest would be as simple as Autumn convincing you to join up with dialogue options before seeing Eden.
You can join Eden but not Autumn actually.

Joining Eden isn't the same thing as you still destroy the Enclave if you do, what I mean is that I would like a wanderer sides with Autumn ending.
Interesting idea.
How would it proceed from there do you think?
Would it then have the player assault the citadel with Lyons as boss fight?
Or do you think it would have the player return as a double agent?

After the Wander help's Autumn deactivate Eden Autumn would give the Wander a fake GECK to take to the Brotherhood of Steel, which has a virus capable of uploading Liberty Primes true combat subroutine's when attached to the Brotherhood's computer mainframe, turning the robot hostile to the brotherhood.

The mission itself would involve you going back to the cathedral and immediately upon arrival Lyon's will confiscate the GECK from you and inform you that they will be taking it to the purifier soon after some brief analysis of it's technology. (Confirming what Autumn told the Wanderer about the Brotherhood caring for tech priority first over the well being of other's.)

The next phase of the mission involves sneaking around to get the fake GECK back, before uploading the virus off of it and activating Liberty Prime which immediately rises into the courtyard and start's running amok on the few brotherhood knight's left to defend the fort who are also being attacked by Enclave soldier's. (The rest were getting in position to assault the purifier and were expecting liberty prime to come to their aid not the Enclave's something they don't find out until it's too late)

The Wanderer fight's through the cathedral first out of the basement and then through the courtyard which is in limited chaos, ending with him/her fighting into the other wing of the building and proceeding to kill Elder Lyon's.

After this you would return to the Courtyard and be shocked when Autumn is their and he informs you that the Enclave had secretly withdrew all it's unit's except a few from the purifier to make this assault, and because they were unaware that the Brotherhood was in the process of making their move, Sarah Lyon's and a majority of the Brotherhood's troops that weren't at the cathedral were able to easily overrun the Enclave troops left, which leads to Liberty Prime and the Enclave forces making the exact same journey to the purifiers as the Brotherhood does in game with Sarah Lyon's as the final boss.

I'm somewhat conflicted. I really enjoyed New Vegas, and likely have the most completed playthroughs. However...the world itself feels empty. I know, they were put into a position to rush out the game, but I was hoping to see a more lively New Vegas. It did have unique factions (the Boomers, for example) but I felt there was more that could have been done. Honest Hearts suffers from the same thing. I wanted to see New Canaan (the Mormon city. Been a while since I've played), but the destruction happened before you even arrive.

They actually used story dev time for the DLCs. You know, Dead Money.

So, I've played all the modern Fallout games outside of 76, so I'm going to say Fallout 4.

[doges rotten tomatoes and vegies]

Hear me out, the old GURPS-inspired system (yeah, GURPS was going to be the RPG system that Fallout would use, but the black comedy and shit like someone getting executed on TV got GRUPS's creator to veto the proceedings, so we're left with a GURPS-lite that is the SPECIAL system) that was used up to New Vegas is a clunky mess that was good for its time but simply slowed the game down. It also helped that it had oh so many quality of life improvements over the New Vegas games, bringing the series to modern shooters. It also made power armor feel like walking fucking tanks, as the previous games just made them metal armor+ and that's it. You can also mod your weapons to fit your specific playstyle (and even name them), although semi-auto rifles have more perks to them than automatics. The graphics were pretty good, the environments weren't completely empty like New Vegas but not the same drab as Fallout 3, the combat is pretty effective given what it evolved from... I could go on here.

Sure it has its problems, but what game doesn't? Everything can be improved.

... huh. Been a while since I played that game.

For several reasons, not the least being that it's probably the worst fallout game we can actually speak of without pleasing nyarlathotep.
The games dated and an RPG which differs from new players Fallout style that doesn't necessarily make the game bad, especially when compared to 76 at launch.

Ahhhh what?

Yeah, by the first 47 seconds into the game, you get shit like this.

That's what you get for a clunkier version of GURPS. At least with GURPS you can quickly switch from edition to edition with minor problems, and there has been plenty of streamlining from 2e to 3e.

No, it's just everything else about the game that makes it bad. Like the hyper-strict time limit, the awful map, endless side quests that you don't actually have time to do, etc.

It's made to force you to play it repeatedly to get all the game has to offer, but it's a really bad design decision for an RPG.

The second game is miles better and is probably the best fallout game period.

The limit is not nearly as "hard" as it seems. Its quite a bit of time, there is a sidequest to extend it considerably, and the water chip quest is more of a milestone than the end of the game. There are also mods/patches to deal with it.

Yet i agree that the second game is better, bigger map, more stuff, mechanics and features in general.
