Ah I love the smell of missile spam in the morning
Well if that's the case wouldn't getting rid of a substantial chunk of the North Korean Military and using the saved money to invest in both the economy and making the rest of the military a higher quality force be a good idea. Of course doing so would probably result in some ye olde regime change by the Generals

While they can probably get rid of quite a bit. They do need enough of a conventional military to protect and deliver those nukes, also handle revolts. So i wouldn't expect too much cutting tbh.

SO we can talk about everything going on in Best Korea, with articles to match!

Starting out:

He believes nukes will prevent them from ever having war ever!
To b fair he isn’t wrong, with a nuke getting rid of him is a bigger pain than letting him stay there

The downtown is that South Korea will in essence be held hostage by said nukes, especially if they can make them small enough to fit into tube or rocket artillery since unlike aircraft and missiles there's no way in hell to shoot all of that ordnance. Hell even stopping the missiles is a nightmare given the numbers involved

If they make a nuke that small they are getting help

they have access to technology (albeit in very limited numbers) we couldn't dream about in the 50s. Still its unlikely they'll go the nuclear shell route and instead try to build ICBMs
I can tell you you overestimate them so much

They probably don't have the money(and thus the infrastructure)for either of course. And to be fair I prefer to overestimate hostile nations so that any suprise about their capabilities is a pleasant one.

North Korean hackers have stolen over 300 million dollars to fund their nuclear weapons program in 2020.

But don't worry this is an improvement over 2019 when it was reckoned their hackers stole about two billion.

No thread on the minor happenings in North Korea (or South Korea I suppose if your one of those people) yet? Well don't worry, something newsworthy happened in Best Korea recently to spark off this thread.

Yes he banned mullets and skinny jeans... but it doesn't end there. But why you might ask?

According to the Daily Express...

Daily Express said:
"History teaches us a crucial lesson that a country can become vulnerable and eventually collapse like a damp wall regardless of its economic and defence power if we do not hold on to our own lifestyle."

The newspaper warned young people in Kim Jong-un's hermit state are more likely to be influenced by the "exotic" lifestyle of capitalism.

The article continued: "We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them."

According to reports, Kim Jong-un has banned "non-socialist" hairstyles like the mullet.

Not only is he limiting hairstyles, he's limited women to one of only 15 different hairstyles apparently as well as banning the use of hair dye. Needless to say other culturally degenerate attire has also been banned such as lip and nose piercings, ripped jeans and graphic tee-shirts (ie T-shirts with slogans on them).

This comes in the wake of the worldwide explosion of popularity of K-pop including groups such as Blackpink which is also curbed in Bestest Korea and which the Hermit Kingdom compares with "slavery" saying these popstars are bound to unfair contracts with greedy, capitalistic music studios.

Basically this Western Influence penetrating North Korea could poison its population and ultimately lead to the current leaderships loss of prestige and then power.

Isn't North Korea in the brink of another famine as well? I recall that in late-2020 and early-2021 there were speeches in the WPK assembly that basically amounted to 'prepare your anus' when you translated the jargon into normal language - basically, they were announcing that NK had had a crop failure.
