It's Fanart Friday, today goes out to Reg Rome's story Minute Mage, a really nice LitRPG that breaks away from the usual wish fulfilment and goes straight to complete disaster for the MC and a desperate struggle that's so rare in this kind of story. Here we have a climactic moment where he gets attacked by The Banestinger, a scorpion that's massively above him and can one-shot him if it catches up. It's that kind of story.

It's Fanart Friday, getting back in the swing of this after being down sick a month. This week's Fanart goes to @Markwarrior and his story Caustic.

This is my first try at implementing my plan to have an AI draw the background for me while drawing the characters myself. I think it came out alright though I had to adjust my style to fit it somewhat. The AI also isn't very skilled at making things crisp.

Didn't, realize, I've actually never played Fallout. I started drawing a set of Dickies coveralls, as that's what I've seen people wear when welding, then adding some yellow spots to break up the color and make it less boring.

Makes me think of the "crawlers" from 1998's "Soldier."

These vehicles do sort of make sense in battle, but those crawlers wouldn't be a match for tanks from 1944. That's what I didn't like about "Avatar:" Granted the machines weren't top military vehicles but an attack from Vietnam Era aircraft and weapons could take them down. It was "Time Pilot" in reverse.

I do, though, dabble in 3D rendering though I'm not much good at it. Since I'm too busy to put a drawing together I'll repost these.

The "Compass Rose" series actually derived from a series of sketches I did all the way back in grade school of a hot-air balloon flying through exotic locales, usually full of dinosaurs because Grade Schooler. The idea of a fantastic journey through all sorts of worlds, though, is a powerful one and stuck with me. Eventually the balloon became a zeppelin and got the name Compass Rose and I pieced together a sort-of story for an airship that jumps through portals in the upper atmosphere to consecutive worlds, pretty much Star Trek but without any actual space, just increasingly strange worlds to visit.

The Compass Rose explores the ocean moon of a ringed gas giant. Models designed in Rhino, rendered in Bryce.
