do you like feeeeeels in your epic fights?

I do

“I will live”

It’s only many chapters that you know what drives angry sour Kanda on.....don’t know about what drives this Noah on, but it’s safe to say his pure hatred doesn’t win out even if it does bring him back from the brink

Climatic gunfight (and it was a prolonged one too) from the Western Open Range

Real hidden treasure of a gun battle that served as the climax to a great movie.

I thought it was pretty well done without being over the top explosion/laser/flashy as is typical in anime/game fights.

The wall hopping and the piano music really sold it for me.

Also I actually watched the entire Armstrong/Metal gear solid fight recently (this is where the "Nanomachines son" thing comes from apparently) ...........it left me feeling many things........among other things it was like... omg how did they know

Keep in mind this game came out 7 years ago

Superman vs Zod in from man of steel.

For all the shit people have for the DCEU being all “grimdark” you gotta admit Zack Snyder was really fuckinggood at making fight scenes

I think people were expecting for Clark to curbstomp things and not really do mucb by virtue of having powers that could fix any plot extremely casually

Achilles vs Hector from the movie Troy

Do yourself a favour and watch the Directors Cut.

The actual fight lasts around 3min and it is the second most epic part of the film (most epic of course being the beach landing earlier) its just two men, no magical powers to be seen just incredibly skilled killers. Pretty hard to top this duel in a movie without movie 'magic'.

Beach landing scene: (I'd say Achilles goes full god of War mode at 4:30 but according to legend Achilles actually defeated Ares in personal combat so...)

It's not so much a 'fight scene' as it is a 'civilian running through a fight' scene, but I'd say the extended take at the end of 'Children of Men' is worth a reference here. You've got all this random chaos, a back-and-forth 'flow' to the fight that can be observed without much of the actual fights context, and (unshown) a moment after this there's a final large explosion from a missile or mortar or something that serves as a finale of the section. It's very impressive to watch.

More 'fight scene' actually--albeit memorable more in a 'one-liner' and as the capstone to a neat movie itself is the one in Air Force One.

Which I reference mainly because the movies few action sequences are fun themselves and this one finishes the hand/gun-fighting off. It's basically 'Die Hard in Air Force One' where McClane is the President and...I dunnow, the sets being limited and reused and everything being very contained and cramped because it's supposed to be an aircraft cabin always seemed neat to me. In every fight in the movie, space plays a role in what happens, so this final one completes that by opening up a big 'space' that gets used for body disposal :p

Battle of James Island from the 1989 film Glory

Glory
is the film that basically had me fall in love with Civil War History specifically and military history in general and while the opening Battle of Antietam and the climatic Battle of Fort Wagner were far more epic, it was the Battle of James Island (which was comparatively more like a skirmish cinematically and historically) which was my favorite part of the film. Looking back on it now there's some problems with the battle scene that seemed to of been missed in the editing room, but overall I love the rush into battle and the passage between the fleeing Union troops and resulting Cavalry charge (which isn't shown in the above clip) as well as the volley trading before the final decisive clash into melee. Like Braveheart with muskets.

Plus you get to see Ferris Bueller all grown up and leading Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Andre Braugher and Westley into battle!!!

I was already excited by the prospect of an interesting science fiction film about an alien species stranded on Earth, but I was wholly unprepared for the film's climax.

Still remember this movie from many years ago, shame the dude permanently ended up a giant cockroach inside a horrible slum wherein lots of the locals love to abuse and even eat them
