I see it all the time

Note: if a man has really solid genetics, even eating and living like shit, he will probably still look pretty decent all things considered. Doesn't change the fact that environmental and dietary factors are severely crippling the testosterone and hormones of entire generations of boys and men.

Ever hear of testosterone creams? It rubs on the skin, absorbs in the body and boosts testosterone? Very common with athletes. Now: what do you think happens when body sprays, body washes, and all kinds of other cosmetic products are rubbed on the body? Of course, some of it gets absorbed

Ok, so you do claim that you can tell just by looking at guys around you if they are physically active and get good sleep but also tell that they look and feel like crap. Color me skeptical.

Maybe those factors are having an effect. But it's not "a fact". There's no clear evidence that those are more relevant than lifestyle factors like sleep and activity level.

No, I've never heard of such creams. Unless you're talking about some kind of steroid cream, in which case yes, of course steroids affect hormones, duh. It's more effective to just inject steroids intravenously though, and that's what athletes do. Outside of that, no, "testosterone cream" isn't a thing. Anything that isn't a steroid but claims to boost testosterone is very probably snake oil. I'm actually into weight lifting and have some knowledge of natural supplements. The reality is that there is very little evidence for any substance outside of steroids having any measurable positive effect on test levels. Maybe ashwaganda, maybe. And if so then only slightly so.

There are steroids in some skin care products, for very specialized purposes. But your run of the mill Axe body wash doesn't have steroids in it. Now there are valid reasons to not use Axe body wash, mainly if you just have sensitive skin or you're allergic to some of the ingredients. But people can be sensitive and allergic to anything, literally even water can cause skin reactions in some people. You really shouldn't be concerned about Axe making you grow boobs though. Anyone who says that is a concern is just fear mongering and likely trying to sell you something else.

Genuinely curious...what about Soy/Estrogen being in creams?
Well my understanding is that, despite the "soyboy" memes, concerns about dietary soy being bad for testosterone levels are overblown. Actual human studies have found no evidence of a negative effect on testosterone levels from dietary soy at realistic levels of consumption. Having tofu or edamame, even regularly, isn't going to hurt your test.

Given that, I really doubt soy products in skin care would have much of an effect either. I mean there's soybean oil in some beard oil I use and I'm not bothered by it. I'm no expert but that's kind of my outlook on things.

I, personally, have never done anything physical in my life and have spent the last few decades playing RPGs and eating cheetos

Now then :

Testosterone creams are certainly a thing. gummies as well. The sheer variety of PEDs is astounding. but in any case, getting off tangent here

My advice to you: stop weight lifting. go outside and run and swim. if you are a reasonably athletic man with a reasonably athletic frame, you don't need to cope by making your muscles bigger for the sake of it. If you are a high level athlete, sure, maybe do some lifts for the posterior chain. But otherwise, lifting is pointless

Well, the topic seems to be testosterone and factors that affect testosterone in men. And sure, if you're talking about PEDs, those affect T levels for sure. But, y'know, they're PEDs. I'm not necessarily surprised if a PED cream exists, but I would bet it's not as effective as just injecting PEDs.

Anyways, for one, I actually work a physical job where stronger muscles are helpful, so I do kind of need them. Two, I just enjoy weight lifting, it's a training modality that suits me. I like having bigger muscles, and there's a certain satisfaction from picking up and putting down heavy things. I like seeing more muscle in the mirror, and I like family, friends, and coworkers commenting on how big I'm getting. It all gives me a sense of pride. And I'm keen on the many benefits in mobility and quality of life that weight lifting provides that endurance training like running or swimming simply doesn't. And I've always hated running. So, thanks for the advice and your concern about me "coping", but I like what I'm doing and see no reason to stop. In fact I recommend giving weight lifting a try, you might just like the process and the results. (y)
