"In defense of smashing cameras"

#Antifa are again reminding comrades to not livestream videos of their direct actions (because it could provide evidence of their crimes), and to attack video journalists who do record.

I mean you are whacko to live stream your potentially criminal activity.

Really, if you are going to "protest" then you should have a full face covering and leave your cell phone at home while bringing a burner (only remove from a faraday bag when onsite and return to said bag before you leave).

Case in point a homosexual was going to prison in the Soviet Union for being homosexual. He wrote Stalin to see if he could get the sentence commuted. I think Stalin thought it was a comedy piece.

So, basically… don’t write to Stalin ever?

Upon reflection, I now see why no one would want to, save for relatives that only associated with him because he was family and because he was the most powerful man in the Soviet Union — meaning that crossing him was the last item on any sane person’s list.

IIRC one of the few dudes who could chat to Stalin however he pleased was Zhukov, because executing him would basically result in a red army revolt.

Is that a case in point? I didn't know that Russia's gay community were ever really considered particularly or specifically allied to the communist revolutionaries, so being thrown to the wolves by them hardly feels like back stabbing?

The Communist Party abolished laws against homosexuality in 1917 and indeed used gays as allies to get into power. Once their position was cemented, they passed new anti-gay laws in 1933 and sent their former allies to the gulags.
