If may I make a short timeline of it?
For a Very long time it was easy with money and influence/valued skill to reach Switzerland, and live there actually. However to get nationality was hellish. You could live there 20 years and , if you decided to leave for a year or two you would loose your residency.
To be accurate :
- 1990: first Swiss - EU (EEC) agreement, because cold war is over.
Before spring 1992:
- Switzerland women that marry a Foreigners loose they Swiss Citizenship until the mid 1950s, and even then had to endure bureaucracy to retain Switzerland nationality.
- Children of Foreign Father loose their Swiss Citizenship even if the Mother was Swiss. (logical with the previous rule)?
- Dual Citizenship was banned, (still within line of the past)
- Others things. like the 1995 anti racism law, (Switzerland was not defined as white anymore so to speak)
Like:
- until 2000 Swiss reserve of currency was pegged to gold at a rate of 40% of the whole amount of circulating currency. not gold standard but not exactly fiat either.
- Before 2002, Switzerland as not part of the UN, nor charter or whatever. It did not existed according to Swiss law.
- 2004 more and more EU influence
Since 2014: the Famous mines and explosives in Bridges, tunnel etc, have being dismantled.
Central registry of guns have been made because EU. Soldiers and conscripts cannot access their guns anymore after service.
Homophobia have become a crime usw usw.
EDIT: I have my theory about multiculturalism/globalism
When you perceive the local population as serves (serfes? serfdom yes), that exist only to pay taxes, rent, consume etc, it is only natural to be for multiculturalism.
Pure Market is internationalism as is Socialism. As is Imperialism when it is a caste base system (british empire).
Elite are no longer national, they are international, hence they seek to destroy their Volkgeist, to standardize the mechanism of extraction of value and compliance. I include elite employee (state) in that calculus.
Goes without saying that some Elite Were never National (nobles, church, potent minorities, certain social class and activities) , and that national elite were not necessarily good. However National Elite does not have the network and support of foreign states to rule their people, the international solidarity that allows so much power being in their palm.
The National age was only from the mid XVIII century to the mid XX century.
