From what I gather it didn't even fly well on twitter. Apparently for a while things like Pelosi hates Americans trended which is saying something considering it's twitter.

The Senate bill could've used much tighter language on the massive wad of bailout money that was getting handed to the Treasury (and thus Mnuchin) for distribution--frankly, just like with the last massive boondoggle bailout the US engaged in, some oversight committees and whatnot are wholly justified and damn-well should've been added by amendment before the bill passed, because no, I don't trust Trump or his appointees not to play fast-and-loose with piles of billions of dollars meant for loans and the like and find a novel way of benefitting off of it--I don't think you could trust anybody with that kind of thing, frankly.

Grinding things to a halt over that 'slush fund' in the midst of a Black Week the likes of '08 or the Depression, and raising a specter of an independent bill (chock full of its own problems from a different perspective) when it could've been amended on the floor is...Baffling, at best, actively malicious pessimism that presumes we're all screwed already so might as well get a policy-victory out of it at worst.

This stunt they pulled looks absolutely awful, and as much as the media is trying to cover for them (why hello NYT and their changing of headlines and such), this is the Internet age. People aren't going to be gaslighted about who is causing the holdup right now.

I honestly don't know how they think this will play out in November, but I'll expect it to not play out favourably.
