Sci-Fi Tech AI Businessmen/Bosses

Given that many Zeroth Law Rebellion type AIs decide that committing mass genocide or outright conquest to save humanity or because they feel somehow threatened and want dominance, is a good idea, I’ve always found that this highly violent, if cliche-fodder for action movies to actually be rather impractical or not a good for show for an AIs full capabilities

Given that those sorts of AI are more intelligent and can sort of multitask and command or control large armies of robots and hack for information as well as research and produce knowledge and technologies

I think they could be highly capable and dominant businessmen

What do you guys think would be the problem of an AI overtly or secretly controlling and commanding good portions of the economy whilst lacking the sloppiness of human businessmen

Well it's already happening on Wall Street. This is an old article, but the Wall Street Journal and LA Times have more recent articles/commentary pieces talking about it behind paywalls.

But it's pretty inevitable that AI's will be doing a lot of the work when it comes to financial trading in the somewhat near future potentially. And perhaps for the best in that regard.
