A thread for political articles that beggar belief.

Wew lad. I don't even know what to say about this. Is President Trump perfect? No. Has he lead the US crashing into an unholy, fascistic hell-hole that results in roving death squads and the secret police? No.

Just look at that headline! By all means, discuss and post your own news articles that make your jaw drop.

Three years into Trump presidency and the only major differences in our nation is that the left is more radicalized and the economy is doing a bit better. Trump had better step it up with creating his fascist regime because, so far, he's a complete failure at being a Nazi.

That economy thing might not be long for the world.

Well, you know, prosperity lets people afford bullets for those evil guns. If we just followed Maduro's example and everyone was poor and starving, we would finally have effective gun control.

Don't worry though, I'm sure the Trump Trooper uniforms will arrive in the mails after this election.

Maybe, I guess we’ll see. Though presidents get way too much blame and credit for the economy.

Calling them concentration camps is ridiculous as it makes us think of Nazi camps, which were radically different. How different were they? Well, the groups that Nazis persecuted did they best to get out of Germany or other Nazi occupied territories. Illegal aliens flood into the USA by the millions. It seems strange if we are so evil, racist, and oppressive that the victims of our villainy try so hard to get into our country.

Aside from that, we were talking about how things have changed since Trump was elected and the detention centers were very similar under Obama’s presidency.

Actually its the correct usage. Its a place for concentrating individuals. Brits used them in Malaya and South Africa, Americans with the Japanese minority in ww2, etc.

The Nazi's had extermination camps, which were converted from the original concentration camps.

Maybe by the most broad definition, but we both know that in common usage that the phrase “concentration camp” carries a lot of additional meaning and baggage. We also know that it’s no coincidence that such a loaded term became popular for these detention centers after Trump was elected but not during Obama’s presidency.

By that overly simplistic definition every prison is a concentration camp, in turn making them a common thing worldwide, giving a completely different tone to the term than it has.

Please note that @Realm brought up the term concentration camps while quoting a post that had a reference to Trump being compared to Nazis. Somehow stating that the derailing post was not somehow not meant to be a reference to Nazi Concentration camps is truly something that "beggars belief."

With that said, discussion of the tangent on the definition of concentration camps is off topic. Please don't perpetuate Realm's rules violations. If you wish to discuss that issue, please open your own thread to discuss the topic. Thank you.
