Lets wrap up our job and then climb the ranks

e: Also how are we going to wrap it up?
We have chosen the building and gym options, so the only other issue would be the 1 action a month cost.
We could quickly rush through the upgrades to the Ritz, or just build them a proper fusion menu.
Heck we could probably do both, particularity if we ask for help with the building or wooing the gym tinker.

So, do people vote to be an Associate because they want to take one month to quit our job before taking greater responsibility? Because with the current vote as is, I really can’t tell.
If that’s what voter want to do, I think they should add a write-in to explain the situation to the Prime minister, both for in-quest clarity and for voting intention clarity.

-[X] With the understanding that Shirou would transition to Joint Commander once he finished dealing with certain issues in his civilian identity.
Note since she knows our name we could tell her what we are actually doing
I feel this is the best option... at least for full time membership.

This way we show proper due diligence to our previous employers when we have been given a high ranking (not sure if it is senior or what) position within a company

Not sure about the names given, I mean Baker Street Irregular is a Sherlock Holmes reference which is good, on the other hand we are planning to make a larger organisation

One silly thought

Silver Table, one-part reference to round table, one-part reference to Silver Millennium.

The author already said we can do that without any subvotes needed.

So I'm think Associate Member and then full member after some months to a year (while we sort out the Ritz).
@Speaker4thesilent could we join full time at a later date?
Yes, absolutely. An explanation that ‘Guardian is dealing with issues in his civilian identity,’ would be accepted.
If we want to do this, would it be possible to transition from associate to joint commander when we finished dealing with the Ritz?
I want to at least give some warning instead of just quiting suddenly, but I also really want to go for Joint commander.
That would, indeed, be possible.

That doesn't say that sub-votes aren't needed merely that it is a valid option.

Sub-votes are important for giving this sort of information and by informing her what our plans are so they can work around it.

Without a sub-vote it implies that we want to keep the Associate position for a longer time

I say we go for the joint command alongside Artoria I feel that would be the best bet here for us. I also want to do so because it would be interesting to see narrative and game play wise Shirou and Saber working alongside each other running an organisation. Us leaving the Ritz isn't the end of the world and we have already improved it massively in the time we have been there. But I personally want to lead this organization alongside Saber more then the Ritz. And for a name for the group I'm leaning towards Kingsman Service personally but at the same time that doesn't sound like a ministry name. Perhaps steal from the PRT and take the name Protectorate?
My view on this vote

We have taken a fairly senior position in a company, finding a replacement for us wouldn't be easy. We are in a leadership position... and frankly someone leaving so soon will start bad rumours especially since they have gone through two chefs before us.

We have the responsibility and duty to ensure that we have a skilled well trained successor to ensure the Ritz isn't negatvely affected by our leaving.

Which is why I'm going with the subvote for associate member to join as joint commander when we are done.

Yeah I can actually get behind us being a associate member for now and becoming joint commander when we leave the Ritz cause it does feel kind of wrong to just leave them cold turkey like that.

Well I think Shirou should finish what he started at the Ritz only if it's another turn or two, and then quit. That was only a job to build up the money for a home, and the starting cash for the CD players/company.

As to the Ritz how far along are we until they can thrive on their own with a list of suggestions from us? I don't want to leave them with bad feelings.

Second we should get that Tinker at the gym on board now. Less chance he loses his fucking mind to stress.

Saber obviously is the face of command with her charisma stats, but Shirou covers her failings very well and should be some kind of second in command. Working with the tinkers and such maybe tactical command?

I still think Saber should handle the Parahuman side of thing while Shirou should handle all Normies Training and countermeasures in regard to Parahuman.
It play to both of their strength really well.
Saber with her Charisma can work through their trauma and help them supress the conflict engine (Not that we now that just yet).
Shirou has the knowledge necessary to work out effective counter measures and training, as he was himself outclassed a lot of the time while in the nasuverse.
When it comes to fighting, both should do it, obviously.
Just saying :p

So, an idea on how to organise the Ministry for Parahuman Affairs department wise.

First: Finance and Admin (maybe split into separate departments)
Second: Public Relations, so specialising with talking to the news, school visits, helping dealing with trauma from trigger events, helping families, and helping those afffected by parahuman crimes
Third: Scientific Research, Tinker tech, what are parahumans that sort of thing
Fourth: Legal Support, for instance when it comes to trigger events,
Fifth: Law Enforcement, both normal people trained to fight parahumans and those parahumans who want to take part in law enforcement,
Sixth: International Relations, so speaking with other nations about parahumans
Seventh: Espionage and Counter, deal Foreign powers trying to use parahumans against the UK
Eigth: Military support, for those who join the army or gained powers while in the army, I imagine they would actually be part of the Ministry of Defence but offering consultation would be important

So, they would work with the various ministry’s and charities connected with them... And we would have to start research into what charities are needed

A lot of these will be us acting as consultants for larger Ministries and it will take time for the ministry to fully develop

Oh and we should probably talk to that tinker we found and see if he is intersted in joining

Seems pretty good, just, it’s a bit soon to talk about trigger event, we don’t have enough Parahuman on hand to notice it’s a thing.

Seems like a reasonable middle ground and one that should work out for us without needing to burn anyone.

Though I do wonder if we won't just be treated as a Joint Commander anyway at the get go, since 2-3 months leeway is pretty small about of time anyway.

Plus with how all kinds of stuff need to be set into motion and built for this new branch of government, I could easily see it not really mattering. Since by the time we could officially join, the branch stuff will still be in build up most likely.

This is a big enough decision that I think it's appropriate for me to poke my head into the actual voting again.

I'm curious as to what other people think about reasons for taking up the various level-of-involvement options.

I'm thinking that co leader would be workable in a way and would help with paper work and the fact that marriage is an equal partnership but also that for planning purposes Arturia would already have our insights and for other reasons Arturia would be simply better at it.

As for the negatives Full timer would mean that we would be a hero full time which does have benefits in helping them prepare the same way that were spending extra actions to boost the ritz but also some flaws for example civilian friendships would either be harder to maintain or fall apart due to secret identity's and even many of the people at work wouldn't have any idea who we were. It would be throwing away the growing civilian identity that could form to become the mask

The associate position would be something that would help Shirou's characterization because Shirou would be choosing to do something he enjoyed over something that would help others and it would allow for scenes where they could talk about there day or have Saber arrange for dinner meetings.

it would also act as a touchstone that would allow him to interact and talk to the british population in a way that a cape simply couldn't and it might even greatly boost his legend if he was ever unmasked and he was the chief that completely revolutionized cooking and was somewhat well known in at least some circles it would blow up once he was unmasked where if he was just guardian it wouldn't.
