What ever happened to the Champion of Minbar Althain and the Nightwalkers. Who were traped on Cyrus Colony once Earth Force turned the tide of battle. Did they get wiped out, surrendered an became POWs, or where in a stalemate fighting wise? An if Althain did return to Minbar what would he have said about Earth's Warriors?

In the last Chapter the Narn Fleet guarding the peace sumit that is not G'kar's Uncle's Fleet is it? Or am I thinking of something or someone else entirely? An as to Sinclair being Valen, how will he become Valen or even found out to be Valen? If the Triluminary was lost with the Grey Council when their ship was destroyed?

Althain and friends would still be fighting in the tunnels, in canon that battle lasted the entire length of the war so likely is still ongoing in this shorter version.

G'Sten is indeed G'Kar's uncle, he is rising fast in the ranks and is fairly competent and aggressive.

The triluminary can be replaced as needed by the Vorlons, though I suspect they'll either have one with them or they'll just make a new one. As for Valen, maybe they'll never find out in this timeline :p

Wouldn't the Triluminary have been transferred to Branmer's ship along with Dukhat's stuff (and the Vorlons).
Depends if the Grey Council knew about it. I just can't see them giving custody of such a relic without any military applications to someone who wasn't part of the Council especially when Brammer was frequently in the frontlines where it could be lost.

I appreciate the commentary and support offered to this story, it was a funny situation that led to this story being finished but I am glad it was and I personally thank you all for supporting it.
Only took what, eight or nine years? :D The original didn't take that long :p

The story will stay here for six months or so before I put it up on AO3 so it can be archived. Maybe FF.net but I really hate their formatting so maybe just AO3

My next B5 fic will be exclusive to here as a thanks to the site owner for hosting my work. It'll be about the 'hot war' phase of the Drakh War happening alongside Crusade but focusing on a Warlock Fleet. Many, many explosions.

The sequel to this story is planned for the future but not anytime soon, it will be months of planning at least and research so I'll do some smaller projects in between. Likely something in Star Wars and maybe, maybe a very old Star Trek and B5 cross I never finished.

Again though, my thanks for the support. Took a while but I am glad to have had a chance to finish this.

I came to this forum to follow a btech story and was pleasantly surprised to find some of your works posted and in particular this one updated. Excellent work as always and a big thank you for all of your literary contributions over the years.

But I have to ask/plea/hope/pray/beg is that possibly a Shadow Looming over your future work....

A very distinct possibility, I gave this fic a bit of a tidy before finishing it but the old Shadow fic we'd be looking at starting from scratch. I have spent time working out how to do that, what to change, what to keep. Ultimately I want more Borg :) he idea of doing a big Borg invasion does rather interest me and as that was my first real fic I reckon I can do it justice now :)

No way! 🙌 That fic was one of the first ones that got me hooked on fanfiction and still a favorite to this day, Just please please keep the Vanguard and Maxwell I won't say more on it but damn... anyways congratulations on finishing another masterpiece.

This was a brilliant and fantastic story. I was always guessing where the balance of power would end up and you did a tremendous job of oscillating the initiative of the war between the EA and the Mimbari. The pragmatic Dilgar tying themselves into an alliance with Earth, the fluid political situation at the end of the war and the now relative abundance of advanced tech floating around generates an interesting situation. This, coupled with the impressive vein of politicking you described throughout your story, makes this a pleasure to read.
I can only hope you intend to construct a sequel to this AU in the lead up to and during the coming Shadow war and all the mess that the conflict would bring. Regardless, thanks for a great read!

Very appreciated :)

I have got plans for a 'Babylon Prime' inspired AU set during the time of the series but that would be a huge mission so it may be some time in the future. In the nearer term I have a desire to set something in the opening phases of the Drakh conflict.

Well I must say that I very much look forward to reading both of these potential pieces. :)
The further stories of the AU sound particularly fascinating. The Babylon 5 universe just lends itself for deep, and satisfying narrative I feel. The potential of the new Mimbari leadership, the infamous deathwalker and a more powerful Earth just sounds like a delight in the possible setting. But I can understand just how much work and effort it is to produce a story of depth and quality like this.
The Drakh war sounds very intersting. I watched the short lived crusade series but other than the Drakh occupation of Centauri Prime and the initial Drakh plague strike, I wasn't terribly aware of a wider conflict other than cure expeditions? It would certainly be a compelling read. I'll have to keep an eye out then. :)

Have you ever thought about doing some One shots set during this AU from POV's of different characters for example. Like what was going on in the Gery Council when the Shadow's missile was heading for Minbar. Or what Lando has running through his head at the peace talks. Maybe Althain’s view of vents from first setting foot on Cyrus, to being cut off, to learning of the Minbari surrender, and finally returning to Minbar.

You that eventually you would be posting this to Ao3 under what name would you do that?

This fic went up on AO3 last week or so if I recall, my policy is for this site to have 6 months exclusivity then it gets archived on AO3. Though I do plan a fic or two that will only be here, not sure which one yet though :)

But regarding side stories and such, sure, could do that. I also have an aim to tidy up the original Dilgar fic same as I did with this one. No huge changes just added texture and a few additional scenes early on, plus sorting the technical stuff.

But one shots are an idea, and I don't mind if others want to do bits on their own using this setting.
