But the Democrats/left had a plan to swarm the primaries and vote for dewine to keep him the GOP candidate. So that probably helped him a lot.

This also registers them as Republicans, so don't go by any voter registration numbers to make future predictions in Ohio. A lot of them are far lefties now.

DeWine wins reelection very handily in November by double digits.
 
According to the vote, it was not close in Ohio:
"In fact, Vance won relatively easy, with the Associated Press calling the race Tuesday night. The Trump-backed Republican drew 32.2% of the vote, compared to 23.9% for Mandel and 23.3% for Dolan. He’ll now go up against U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, who prevailed in the Democratic primary, in November."

Watched some of the highlights. Congratulations to the Buckeye State's junior United States Senator JD Vance (R-OH).

The general election will NOT be close.

Safe to say the other OH GOPers will likely be gunning after United States Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in 2024 because I think he'll be going down hard in 2 years.

Good that JD Vance won. VDARE likes him and I think that he would be more articulate and effective in the US Senate than his opponents would have been.
 
The GOP situation in Pennsylvania is dilemma for sure. The GOP incumbent Pat Toomey is retiring to keep a campaign promise (made back in the 90s, apparently) to limit his terms in office. So it's an opening for the Dems to flip the seat. The leading GOP candidate up to the primary has been Dr. Mehmet Oz... Yes, as in Dr Oz, the talk show host. I'm very puzzled as to why he's running as a Republican at all. His history shows him holding traditionally progressive views on abortion and transgenderism. He's arguably not conservative at all. Though I do remember him having a very positive interview with Jordan Peterson a few years back, so there's that.

There's also Kathy Barnette, who seems much more solid on issues like abortion and transgenderism. However, she's on record making some... controversial comments about Islam and homosexuality. I personally can see where she's coming from, but some commentators argue that these comments sink her chances at winning a statewide election in a purple state like Pennsylvania. She already ran for Congress before, and lost.

So one candidate who in all likelihood will turn out to be RINO, and one that is a solid conservative but may just not be viable with Pennsylvania's electorate. I don't envy the choice Pennsylvania Republicans have to make. If I was there though I would probably go with my conscience and vote for Barnette.

Now that McCormick has conceded, big question is whether he or Barnette will be recruited by the NRSCC to challenge United States Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr., (D-PA) in 2024 ?

I should note Casey, Jr., has won 6 statewide elections.
