I'm not so sure people are going to wait for things to end up inc court, given how useless those were in 2020.
I very much hope they do wait for the courts.

SCOTUS and more specifically Justice Thomas and Justice Alito may want revenge for 2020 themselves, and now would be the time to get it.

Oh hey, it's not just in AZ either it seems. Though fucky elections in NJ is hardly a new thing, so may not be the same cause.

It seems to be Dominion voting machines. So the chance of it being an accident just plummeted.

They might want to, but what about the rest? And how are you so sure they won’t chicken out again?

I just really, REALLY hope it’s all unnecessary.
Yes, I hope it is unnecessary, which is why I am saying to wait for the courts.

The ballot box might be iffy, but the head of the judiciary is not; we've seen that with Dobbs and 2A stuff.

What fucktards are still using those after 2020; this is such a fucking farce.

I was thinking about this last night. What would be better in the long term? Red Wave now, or narrow Blue victory now with two more years of public resentment slowly building up? Because I think that if there is a Red Wave today then that will make the bigger elections in two years (other half of the Senate/Congress plus president) a harder sell.

Look, if our elections turn out to be less trustworthy and transparent than fucking Brazil, no one can again argue we are not a banana republic with nukes.

Thus 2024 won't fucking matter except as a ritual humiliation of perpetuating a provingly rigged system.

SCOTUS might be able to deal with any particlular contentious cases fairly due to Alito and Thomas, which is the only real hope we have if widescale fuckery ala 2020 occurs.

UPDATED, Nov. 8: Philadelphia commissioners voted Tuesday to reinstate the plan to catch double votes.
Read more from The Inquirer.

A last-minute change to Philadelphia’s vote-counting plan means that Pennsylvania’s largest, most heavily Democratic county will take longer than it originally anticipated to finish tabulating ballots.

Philadelphia officials had initially projected that they would be mostly finished counting ballots by Wednesday morning. It was an important prediction. The incorrect idea that a slow vote count means something nefarious is going on is common in right-wing political circles and is frequently used to cast doubt on election results in places like Philly.

But now, some tens of thousands of mail ballots still left to count on Tuesday night will need to be counted more slowly through the week, according to The Inquirer.

That’s not a sign that anything is wrong with the count — just that election workers are conducting an extra, time-consuming check for double votes.

Original story
HARRISBURG — Philadelphia does not need to change a significant aspect of its vote-counting plan hours before the 2022 general election, a judge ruled Monday, but the case isn’t over yet.

It revolves around the city’s commissioners’ plan to discontinue a time-consuming procedure they previously used to catch people who vote both by mail and in person. The commissioners, who administer Philadelphia’s elections, argue it’s duplicative of other effective measures.

Two elected poll workers who are Republicans are plaintiffs in the case. They’re asking the commissioners to reinstate that security measure.

Here's the kicker: "Additionally, the check turned up zero instances of double voting in the past three elections, according to commissioners."

BREAKING: IT HAS BEGUN — 21% Of Arizona Polling Places Tabulators Fail: Report

Note: This article may contain commentary reflecting the author's opinion.
Reports are flooding in via Twitter and into campaign phone lines that irregularities are already occurring in the contentious Arizona 2022 midterms.

The Tuesday morning elections have begun with reports from multiple locations in Anthem, Scottsdale and Phoenix of long lines and Maricopa County Election machines failing.

Tyler Bowyer Cheif Operating Officer of Turning Point USA, took to Twitter with a video of an election official reportedly at an Anthem at approximately 7:30 a.m. MST

In the video, the unnamed official tells the gathered voters, “We have two tabulators. One of the tabulators is not working, okay? The other tabulator is taking about 75% successful. So 25% of them are being misread. And it could be a printer issue, or it could be the tabulator itself. So when its misread you have an option to put into what’s called ‘Box 3’ and it gets read. Whether it goes downtown and gets read manually or whether it gets re-fed in into our tabulator they get read. Okay? So noone’s trying to [laughs] deceive anybody.”

The official then tells a woman questioning the process that she cannot fill out her ballot and take it to another location. The video has subsequently been shared by Charlie Kirk and Newsmax’s Benny Johnson, and GOP Gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

Benny Johnson of Newsmax tweeted video from an undisclosed polling location in Arizona with officials providing similar instructions.

Bowyer later tweeted that “More than 10% of polling locations in @maricopacounty have had substantive voter access and tabulation issues this morning. The @GOP lawyers are working to resolve issues and hold the county accountable swiftly. Please do not go home. Go to a new location or wait.”

Dr. Kelli Ward, Arizona GOP Chair reported in a pair of tweets that the affected rate of polling places is now up to 21%, or 50 locations out of 233 as of this report and urged voters NOT to submit their ballots for adjudication, rather suggesting they spoil them and complete a new ballot.

Dr. Kelli Ward

@kelliwardaz

It’s up to 21% affected now. Don’t subject your ballot to adjudication. Go to a place with working tabulators. Of your ballot is rejected, check it. If it still won’t go then spoil it and fill out a new ballot.

In Maricopa County, about 10% of polling places are experiencing problems with tabulators. One machine became operative after it was cleaned. Voters can still place their ballots in a slot in a locked container; they will be counted at the downtown tabulation center tonight.
