USA DEFEATS ENGLAND 0-0!
I don't know how someone still gets surprised by that - the English Football Team is one of the greatest ongoing frauds of modern sports.

There are many great English players, and their league is one of the top-3 of the world - but they have never been able to get a really good national team(1966 nonwithstanding - they had to get the referee's help to go to the finals)

This is why I stopped following the men's game. I now only watch women's football where, unlike the men, the women don't fake it!

To some certain degree I agree with you. And it's more than just me - there are league-like competitions - 2nd or 3rd string, I admit, e.g. the initial stage of the Scottish League Cup (or it the Challenge Cuop?) - where games ending on a draw are "un-tied" with a penalty shootout.
Belgium chokes to Morroco.

So what happens AFTER the world cup? What will Qatar do with a stadium that has no other uses?
It is plural - stadiums. Half a dozen or so were built or expanded - at not insignificant loss of life of slaves contracted South Asian workers. The stadiums' fate? Will host games of local league, in front of several hundred/low four digit numbers of spectators. I expect them to be multi purpose - so other sport events may be hosted. Camel races maybe? And/or the venues will simply crumble into dust - their purpose as toy and one-upmanship for local elites over Saudi Arabia and UAE accomplished.
Cost? Nobody cares. Katar is as good as an absolute monarchy. And very rich. So it is not that local taxpayers are hurting.

At least one stadium will be dismantled - but most will soldier on. I think some(one or two) will return to being track and field stadiums.

Still, as said before, Qatar can deal with the cost - not the least because most of the stadiums seem to have been cheaper than the stadiums built or reformed for the World Cup in Brazil in 2014...

RON/PLC was a wonderful country.
Okay, we got it. Poland fought a match with Argentina, which they lost to, but because Saudi Arabia scored a last-minute goal against Mexico, Poland got promoted by virtue of their group points, and as a reward, the Saudis dropped out of the tournament with the Mexicans. I know, fucked up, just like the first penalty in this match which absolutely should not have been.

Poland team seems to have the same problem as Portugal's; you can't get a competitive team when one of the players is so much better than the others(although, to be fair, the Polish goalkeeper did very well last match).

Szczesny is top-notch too, as evidenced by a career in top PL and Serie A sides.
