Yet Georgia still has back-to-back Natty's in the CFP era.

That being said, better 'bama than any non-SEC team
Yet the SEC has won more national championships in the BCS/College Football Playoff era since 1998:
*Tennessee Volunteers (1998: BCS): Only national championship for the legendary Phil Fulmer.
*LSU Tigers (2003: BCS): Nick Saban's 1st national championship as a College Football Head Coach
*Florida Gators (2006: BCS ): Urban Meyer's 1st national championship as a College Football Head Coach.
*LSU Tigers (2007: BCS): Only national championship for Les Miles in his head coaching career.
*Florida Gators (2008: BCS): Meyer's 2nd national championship.
*Alabama Crimson Tide (2009: BCS): Saban's 2nd national championship.
*Auburn Tigers (2010: BCS): Only national championship for Gene Chizik. He got fired less than 2 years later.
*Alabama Crimson Tide (2011: BCS): Saban's 3rd national championship.
*Alabama Crimson Tide (2012: BCS): Saban's 4th national championship.
*Alabama Crimson Tide (2015: College Football Playoff) Saban's 5th national championship.
*Alabama Crimson Tide (2017: College Football Playoff) Saban's 6th national championship.
*LSU Tigers (2019: College Football Playoff) Only national championship for Ed Orgeron.
*Alabama Crimson Tide (2020: College Football Playoff): Saban's 7th national championship.
*Georgia Bulldogs (2021: College Football Playoff) Kirby Smart's 1st national championship.
*Georgia Bulldogs (2022: College Football Playoff) Smart's 2nd consecutive national championship.

Howdy from the Alamo City Sietch family!

ESPN reporting OU & Texas will be leaving the Big 12 Conference following 2023-24.

Talks on exit a year earlier than it was first announced haf reportedly stalled. Compensation to Big 12: $100 million in "foregone distribution revenues." The SEC will have 16 members once OU & Texas join.
