The socialists would have found one sooner or later. Assuming they didn’t straight up make up one.
Yes, but they would face some political opposition - there was pressure on Lula and his government until yesterday(the usual thing: pouncing on every shit members of the government say, links between members of the government and criminal elements being 'found out', and so on).

Now, Executive, Legislative and Judiciary are marching in lockstep(to condemn 'terrorism' and excise Bolsonaro and his closest supporters from politics). And Lula and his government will use this to pass a lot of things they would have faced opposition on.

And with any luck it will just piss people off more and backfire on him and his cronies.

Bunch of idiots. They just gave the pretext needed for the political repression.
Watched the news on the incident yesterday. I've heard about Palacio da Alvorada (Residence of the Brazilian President); Capitol Building & Supreme Court being ransacked by Bolsonaro-ista's.

WTH???????????????

These dummies just gave Lula the green-light to exterminate the opposition.

You assume that the news is telling the truth or the ‘ransacking’ isn’t just ‘a handful of people stole some nick-nacks’

Still seems to be some drama going down. Seems to be suggestion protestors are camping in/around the military HQ in Brazilia and police want to arrest them but don't have the authority because blah blah blah jurisdiction, etc.

(Caveat: I have no prior experience or knowledge of either of the accounts linked above, they just seem to be people (partisans in favor of Bolsanaro) collecting some of the videos circling about and putting stuff out in English since yours truly does not speak Portuguese Brazilian. Everything should probably be treated with skepticism and mountains of salt, even on top of other caveats about it being a developing situation and who the hell knows what's really going down).

In more disappointing pseudo-news, there had been some joking around and about on the internet about a Brazilian protestor with an extravagant get-up, including headdress, that got compared to the US bufallo-hat shaman. Sadly, he's not from these protests it seems.

Bolsonaro better pray DeSantis doesn't send him back to Brazil.

Oh, they did some ransacking alright - just not of anything that mattered - one of the reasons I call them a bunch of imbeciles. If they wanted to do shit like that, go for broke and destroy the buildings. What they did won't change much besides their own lives, which will take a turn for the worse.

BTW, the Army was transferring 1,200 arrested people to the Federal Police earlier today. Somehow, I think that prison cell overpopulation won't be a concern regarding these guys...

Amazing how fast the law is moving when it comes to these guys. Normally takes forever to arrest criminals here!

Also cool how the same media that will refuse tocall criminals caught on the act anything other than suspet where throwing the term "terrorist coupists" around...

Strongly agree with you on this. What the Hell were these fools thinking ?
They were thinking something had to be done. Which is quite idiotic, as it had to be done 3 years ago, when the Supreme Court started to blatantly interfere on matters which were within the purview of the Executive Power. And fucking Bolsonaro and his fucking 'allies'(most of which are now busy licking Lula's ass in hopes of it being enough to save their own asses) chose to do nothing. Now it's too fucking late.

In other words: Bolsonaro was the one, who FUCKED IT UP from the get-go.

Kinda yeah. Brazil's "redemocratization" was a obviously rushed and badly done deal. The constitution is a joke, completly overburdened with rights and shit that has no place being in a constitution and has been altered multile times already (It has had more ammendments than the US one despite how muxh younger it is, over 110 in 34 years) and it openly pushes Brasil to being a daddy state social democrat meme that sound amazing to champagne socialists but works about as well as a dead horse pulling a cart.

Entire fucking structure is rotten to the core. It will never get better unless the people admit and accept the government cannot and will noy be their dad.
