Okay...who wants to place a running bet we eventually start seeing T34/85's placed in service? Anyone? Because the Soviets never threw anything away, and they supposedly still had thousands of those in storage before the USSR broke up.

Not to mention, let's assume worst case scenario for Ukraine, they do eventually lose/collapse to Russia? Russia's now stuck having to police an entire country that's now going to be bereft with partisan activity (and said partisans will probably be getting quiet support from various parties)...

Considering the Russians supplied WW2-era Mosin Nagant rifles to the Donetsk and Luhansk militias, and Ukraine has been using Maxim machine guns (yes, a weapon that was developed around 1884), it wouldn't surprise me at all.

They may still, reputedly have some stocks of T-34/85's and IS series tanks. The Soviets/Russians never really threw anything away. Although, if you have to be desperate enough to pull those out...?

Make it a fruit basket with a lot of watermelons. (Watermelons is one of Ukraine's staple food crops) On a more serious note, not only has this whole fuckup bled Russia hard, their demographics were already struggling. With the losses from this along with the brain drain of other Russians...

He's already been released, so, nothingburger. Hopefully the "deep state" did a deep enough cavity search with the requisite rubber glove, ala Roto-Rooter, DEEP, and HARD.

Basically what Zachowon said, this is a troop rotation. Also good to get some experience under the belt for the Reserve troops. If Tim Poole did his research he'd know that if the US was actually serious about war they'd need to send a LOT more than just 3000 troops...that's barely the size of...

Respectfully, some assumptions are being made here. Assuming Russia will eventually sort out their logistics issues when Russia has historically had issues with logistics (not really a strong suit of theirs), while said logistics is already compromised by corruption and incompetence within a...

I agree with what you say. However, the main stumbling blocks to this, though not necessarily barriers depending on how much one is willing to invest is: A: Securing the nukes, chem and bio weapons which if in the hands of the Russian military and various warlords is going to be difficult and...

The hilarious bit is that it's kind of true. According to the Great Wiki: The name vodka is a diminutive form of the Slavic word voda (water), interpreted as "little water": root vod- [water] + -k- (diminutive suffix, among other functions) + -a (ending of feminine gender).[8][9][10] In...

No surprise if true. In a way that just makes its worse, I almost feel sorry for the poor bastards. There's a reason why in 1918, WW1 American troops were given pump shotguns to clear trenches.

Eh, unfortunately that's just a symptom of the culture, right or wrong, nowadays. At first glance sure, it's easy to compare images to a computer strategy game or FPS, it's easy to compare something like that to paintball or airsoft at first glance... ...until that is you realize that YES...

Err, unless I'm mistaken, the preferred SAFE way of stacking artillery or tank shells is nose up, tail down on pallets...not casually stacking them like lumber. I wouldn't want to be within several miles of that. Also, look at the condition of the casings, that doesn't look like it's been...

Eh, talk to any professional officer in the US military, an honest conversation will tell you they never assume nigh invincibility in any conflict. It's just better insurance to bring overwhelming firepower if the proverbial gauntlet gets thrown. The more you use, the less you lose. Ideally...

Fair enough, your argument isn't without merit of course. I would LIKE to think most are savvy and learned enough to know the US obviously didn't win every battle it faced, much like any military and there's always lessons to be learned. I don't know who's pushing that concept the US never...
