Activision-Blizzard Megathread (now with more Microsoft Xbox )

You say that like Infinite Warfare is bad. Admittedly, Infinite Warfare is the one Call of Duty game I own but have barely played (the only other one I own but haven't finished yet is COD2).

We're talking about the company that banned a Hearthstone player for making a pro-Hong Kong statement. Also, you can bet good $$$ that no Middle Eastern Activision Blizzard marketing channels made any pro-LGBT statements during pride month.... They usually know better than that. Honestly? I'd...

Not with the money Microsoft could through at them or the level of power Microsoft has over the XBox platform. Microsoft could just decide that every person is gonna see Blizzards new shooter on their front page for like a month after it comes out. They could bundle it with the Series X. They...

Pretty obvious why that won't happen WOW runs on subs. If people can finish the content faster than people who only sub when they play will sub less. Also, people will play less in general, leading to less spending on other things and less engagement.

The reason you point out is another strong reason why Sony wouldn't buy Square Enix or another Japanese publisher. If they bought out someone it'd be a developer that's strong in the West and that's fits in with Sony's goals. Take 2 fits that much more than Square Enix. If they did buy...

Activision-Blizzard Megathread (now with more Microsoft Xbox )

Other than Take 2, pretty much none of these make sense for one of the following reasons: EA is too expensive Nexon, Embracer, and Netmarble are too low-brow/AA. Konami is basically a gambling stock at this point, not a gaming stock. They do slot machines. Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Capcom...

Activision-Blizzard Megathread (now with more Microsoft Xbox )

Sony has about $44 billion cash on hand. Take 2's current market cap is $20 billion. If they bid $25 billion they could probably convince them to sell. Its pricey but they're not buying Take 2 just for its own return, they are buying it to get high quality exclusives to counter Microsoft's...

Activision-Blizzard Megathread (now with more Microsoft Xbox )

Yeah, Sony has to respond to this somehow. I have a feeling that they will feel compelled to make a big purchase of a studio to secure it as another Playstation exclusive. Big brain take: If I were Sony I would buy Take 2. Sony doesn't need to buy any Japanese companies - any corp that...

Activision-Blizzard Megathread (now with more Microsoft Xbox )

Blizzard is still relevant. Warcraft has almost 5 million monthly subscribers, Overwatch still has a lot of fans who would come back for Overwatch 2. Starcraft is pretty dead in the west, and Diablo is just plain dead.

Not even close. He used to own 25% of Activision, but he sold almost all of it before ATVI's stock exploded. Now he owns 1%-1.5%.

Him being forced out is very likely. He fucked up too much.

Activision-Blizzard Megathread (now with more Microsoft Xbox )

... Wat? Nearly all MMO's rely on additionally purchases. Practically no MMO's make all their money up front, its practically impossible and extremely rare. Overwatch makes money through skins, not through selling copies of Overwatch. I wouldn't be surprised if the Diablo series is cancelled...
