'Taxpayer funded social programs,' among other negative effects, tend to create sinecures.

Having a mistrial declared, and getting a new trial somewhere away from Minneapolis/St. Paul would go a long ways to helping restore some trust in the justice system.

That would be a hideous overreach of federal power. If you're that invested in the issue, just go to Virginia and campaign in favor of a/some distinguished WWII vets or the like.

First, the principles of the matter: Cops do not sign up, or take an oath, to put zero value on their life. They do take an oath that involves risking their lives, that involves taking a chance at injury or death in order to uphold the peace. That is not the same as putting the suspect's life...

I won't pursue this at length here, given that'd be solidly out into derail we were already dabbling into, but claiming it's never directly addressed in the Bible is not correct. Go read Deuteronomy 30. If you want to discuss it, PM me or start a new thread.

That's an element of it, but the center of Christian morality is that God is Sacred, and as a being made in the image of God, you also are sacred, as is everyone else made in His image. The Golden is a consequence of this, not a first cause in and of itself. The new-agers are wrong when they...

They do not take the core values. In fact, they avoid the core values, and take the intermediary ones without the core. That's a big part of why they're such a hot mess.

Learning to perceive the situation at hand and acting accordingly in no way conflicts with the golden rule.

The golden rule is not something to be handled blindly. Wisdom teaches that allowing people to habitually exploit you is not following the golden rule, for a wise man would not want others to allow him to do that to them either.

Something I think you're treating as assumed, and others on this thread are treating as you don't care about: You agree that it is a gross miscarriage of justice that while he was convicted of this, Antifa and BLM have not been convicted of all the property-destruction crimes they've committed...

Chauvin literally did what he was trained to do. He put him in what was called 'the recovery position,' and was supposed to keep him there until the ambulance arrived, which is exactly what happened. It would not have mattered if Chauvin had gotten off of Floyd 2 minutes earlier, not for...

Did you actually watch any of the trial? Because I did. Not all of it (it was days long), but the witnesses for the prosecution generally ended up making Chauvin look innocent, rather than guilty, much less the witnesses for the defense.

You could possibly convict Chauvin for negligent manslaughter. I forget the exact term in Minnesota law, but he was up on 3 charges, and their version of negligent manslaughter was the least serious of them. Given he was doing what his training told him to do, I don't think he should even have...

Before or after they were pressured to change their testimony? Also, which experts and professionals? Because plenty have also said that his behavior and symptoms were absolutely consistent with overdose, most notably the actual coroner before he was pressured to modify his report.

Chauvin didn't kill Floyd. Floyd killed himself. Thus the right to self-defense isn't relevant to that situation. And when there's clear evidence both that there was witness tampering, and that one of the jurors is ideologically aligned with a terrorist group, was prejudiced against Chauvin and...

United States George Floyd Protests, Reactions and Riots

If you've been tracking the events around the trial, you'd be aware that evidence is that Floyd killed himself. At most, Chauvin contributed by adding stressors when Floyd was already heading towards a death by OD.

Well, that's a bit of a bright spot after the catastrophe of the Chauvin trial.

Wow. Poor debating and lack of willingness to show evidence by the people arguing with you is really doing the moderates and conservatives on this thread no favors. To make up for that lack of effort on (most) of their parts...

...I guess you missed how some leftist universities have started having segregated graduations, segregated dorms, etc? There very much are some leftists pushing this as the 'solution' to racial conflict problems.
