    I'm not sure how you think that a government which refuses to enforce law against the railroad companies now, would be likely to enforce law if it had even more power over them.

    Them blocking this is bad, but things spreading that wide is actually good. Once it gets into the air, dispersion is the only way for it to become safe. Concentration is how you get debilitating or lethal doses. Of course, most politicians probably have no clue about that.

    I have literally never seen railroad tracks like that anywhere here in America. Even abandoned lines that no longer run don't look like that. Not that I can't believe it's that bad in some places, it honestly just makes seeing something like that all the worse. What the hell?

    Regulations are not a solution to this kind of problem, enforcement of accountability is. If the parties responsible for this cannot be forced to pay a fitting price in court, why would a regulatory body be any more able to enforce appropriate accountability?
