Babylon 5 crossover recs and ideas.

Basically, in relativity as you approach the speed of light time slows down. And if you were hypothetically to go faster than light whilst remaining in a three-dimensional universe time's flow would reverse for you, effectively causing you to travel backwards in time (Pop culture example...

    Crossover Non-Battletech Mechs In Battletech

Nah, there's no standard bore sizes in BT. Weapons are classified according to their type (AC, Laser, PPC, etc) and to the "end result". So an AC/2 is an autocannon that causes 2 points of damage per hit, whereas an AC/5 is an autocannon that causes 5 points of damage per hit. Hypothetically the...

    Crossover Non-Battletech Mechs In Battletech

The Leo MS is... very weird, from a BattleTech perspective. It's the size of a Heavy or Assault, but has the armor and ranged weaponry of a Light mech (the closest equivalent to the 105mm Rifle would probably be an Ultra AC/2, maybe with special munitions). And yet, if it can close to melee...

Versus Match SHTF-321 (Colonial Marines, Aliens, Predators, The Thing)

Given what's written about them and their associated castes on the Xenopedia, I would have to say that they do not have access to them at all on the ship. Though hypothetically if an outbreak becomes far too large for them to contain I suppose the Leader could send out a distress signal calling...

Versus Match SHTF-321 (Colonial Marines, Aliens, Predators, The Thing)

If you're referring to their plasma casters I was thinking they start with those, though as is typical for Yautja they prefer close combat. If the Leader decides to escalate beyond that, he's likely to just send down one or both of the Blooded, or maybe even come down personally.

Versus Match SHTF-321 (Colonial Marines, Aliens, Predators, The Thing)

Very nice! Yes, the synths I think would probably be the colonists' best bet of containing The Thing - though they probably wouldn't actually realize it until they've had a good, close-up look at a dead Thing much like the doctor did in the 1982 movie. And unlike at the Antarctic outpost, here...

Versus Match SHTF-321 (Colonial Marines, Aliens, Predators, The Thing)

It would certainly allow it to reproduce the same types of tissues, at least, like the Xenomorphs' carapace or even bones once it gets that far into the assimilation process. The big issue for The Thing, I think, is that assimilation happens on the cellular level and the acidic blood would...

Versus Match SHTF-321 (Colonial Marines, Aliens, Predators, The Thing)

Yes, that's exactly the type of discussion I was hoping for! I intentionally gave the factions slightly different missions based not only on their canon behavior but also the scenario as a whole, to ensure that there were multiple possible outcomes - and indeed, possible for more than one...

Versus Match SHTF-321 (Colonial Marines, Aliens, Predators, The Thing)

In honor of the Halloween season, I figured I'd post a versus match/what-if scenario. The scenario takes place on the colony planet SHTF-321. Background The planet is home to a single human colony of about 250 people, divided into something like 50-60 families and about two dozen or so...

    Starfield, Bethesda's Space RPG Spectacular

You might have been able to do that (I don't remember, it's been a while), but like I said, it didn't include a delay and the possibility of killing (or not having) any witnesses to avoid a reputation change. It doesn't really make much sense for your reputation to change when all the people who...

    Starfield, Bethesda's Space RPG Spectacular

I would have liked a proper faction reputation system, akin to what you saw in New Vegas, but with one caveat: a built-in "delay" before your reputation actually changes, with the ability to prevent a reputation change if there are no surviving witnesses by the time the reputation change is...

    Starfield, Bethesda's Space RPG Spectacular

Could be a thing for a DLC - turns out a universe-hopping mind virus exploded across realities a generation or two before the game takes place and rewrote everyones' brains, and now you have to track it down to the source and erase it from existence and make people talk normally again! Or...

The Americas I moved back in with my parents 3 years ago thinking it would be temporary. I'm still there, and I'm glad for the time with them.

A few months ago my dad moved in with me (I'm 38, he's 72). The original reason was purely financial - with all the rising inflation us moving in together made perfect financial sense as it allows us both to save on expenses. However, he is getting on in years and there's a lot of stuff he has...

As before, that doesn't contradict anything I said in my original post, so... Yeah. No comment.

chimp vs human males...classic internet topic happening right now on sherdog

I... beg your pardon? Objective biometrics are objective biometrics - respect does not factor into it in the slightest. The first three paragraphs of my post simply addressed a very common misconception and corrected it, nothing more. And yes, chimps have long arms and strong hands, giving them...

chimp vs human males...classic internet topic happening right now on sherdog

Yeah, like Zeno pointed out the strength of a chimp is often exaggerated to Nth degree by people who... know absolutely nothing about chimps, biology or physics. Proportionately they are indeed stronger than humans, however most of the misconception of their strength comes from the fact that...

United States Craft of 'Non-Human Origin' Have Been Retrieved by the US DoD and Others for 80 Years, Congressional UAP Whistleblower Reports Confirm.

It's been a thing in UFO/alien circles for decades that the "Short Grays" are in fact biological robots of a sort - built from the ground up by another species to serve a variety of purposes. A bit more recently there's been talk about them being the creation of the so-called "Tall Grays", who...
