    Potentially...but there's lots of drawbacks to it. 1. ammo...everything you pack for indirect is generally useless for direct fire against armored targets. 2. generally don't have the targeting systems capable of both. even if you do you have to make sure the turret can move barrel and chamber...

    Maybe sorta. I mean you certainly can and have seen tanks used in IF mode. The problem with making your artillery also an MBT is that you vastly increase the cost of said artillery. SP-Artillery doesn't need that sort of protection.

    Yup, though I wouldn't be surprised to see something like the Avenger come back to assist in dealing with drone swarms. Especially for front-line defense.

    Schreck PPC Carrier...for when you have to say "Hello" with lightning...LOTS OF LIGHTNING!!!!! There's a later variant, the II-X, which drops to 6xLight PPCs with 3xCapacitors...all tied to a targeting computer. It adds 15 tons to the beast (95t total) and increases to a heavier armor loadout...

    Some of the ugliest combinations I've ever used in the tabletop game have nothing to do with 'Mechs. -VTOL's mounting Arrow IV -Large groups of tanks with Semi-guided LRMs -BA and Infantry w/Light TAG My players hated me after that. :devilish: 🎆🎆
