I have to wonder if Jews are a standout because most of them (at least in the West) are for better or worse, basically White people who have basically assimilated, but are still part of their own "group." A lot of White Americans... they tend to be kind of... ehhhh... the default or generic seeming American. I don't know if most of them (us?) really have strong distinctions after so many generations from being Italian or German or Anglo or Irish-American beyond casual dinner table talk and certain foods they prefer to eat.

Jews can be seen as somewhat insular when compared to a "generic White American" if you can say that, but then again so are most immigrant, ethnic and in some cases religious groups. Oftentimes ethnic and immigrant groups blend away, but there's always still remnants of their prior associations even distilling down through the generations.

Like if your a Nigerian-American or a Filipino-American fresh off the boat or third or fourth generation, there's still a strong chance you have relatives and friends and stuff that are of the same ethnic group but your still basically American and hang out with non-Filipino or Nigerian friends, or marry into some other family, attend different churches, work with other people... basically you assimilate but you still have attachments to your original "group." And that group can provide emotional support, faith support, financial support and maybe help you network, find jobs, recommend a mechanic, babysit your kids etc etc.

That's not a conspiracy, that's networking. If Filipino-Americans are helping other Filipino-Americans get jobs as nurses or postal workers when they hear about openings or vouch for them or recommend them etc etc it's not a nefarious conspiracy to push Whites out of nursing or postal working. It's literally networking through family or friends who happen to be of the same race or ethnic group or religion as you.

And you can apply that to a lot of groups of people. And not just ethnic groups. I'm sure Mormons and Southern Baptists and Evangelical groups or whatever do the same thing.

What if your a member of a rather successful ethnic/religious community that happens to be Jewish and located in New York or whatever? Well... shocked/not shocked... it will create disproportionate results.

I mean we haven't had a Jewish President in our entire history but literally almost everyone of our modern Presidents have hailed from Harvard or Yale (besides Trump)? Maybe that's an Ivy League conspiracy.... Skull & Bones type shit? Or maybe they're just really good at networking with other elites?

LOL, color me surprised that The Name of Love is an anti-Semite :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously uncool.

What's he's saying might be uncomfortable or fraught with danger of misunderstanding or potentially dogwhistling, but labeling someone publicly as an anti-Semite is still a pretty serious charge to make. 😕

You know what's even less cool? Being an anti-Semitic shit. Jews are just an ethnicity, a relatively financially successful one. No more, no less. That's IT.

Seeing as Poland is, historically, one of the most anti-Semitic countries on the planet, having committed pogroms against Jews even after they freaking literally returned from German concentration camps, it does not surprise me you have sayings like that.

Well, here's the thing: overrepresentation in something doesn't mean the group is responsible. It doesn't even mean the majority of the group is responsible. This is actually what I think accounts for most stereotypes: people mistake statistical overrepresentations for an overall tendency of the group.
Exactly. Jews are just like everyone else.
Thank you, I just wanted a clear answer.

So you deny that (for instance) homosexuality didn't use to be considered a good thing, and then it was just recently?
Sure, but unless you are going to sell me that advocating for gay rights was considered a bad thing, or that jews are disproportionately gay, this doesn't apply.

So this seems like it is relevant to the topic:

Twitter has now labelled the Star of David as a 'hate symbol'.
Reminds me of the time when Internet Trolls made the "OK" sign a "White Power" symbol for the lulz.

Well, let me put it to you this way: if a vocal minority of Jews were advocating for gay rights in the 19th century, what effect do you think this had on Jewish-Gentile relations at the time?

But they weren't, at least as far as I know. And that still wouldn't be considered 'bad stuff', so this is still manipulation of language.

But it does remind me of the stupidest piece of anti-semitism I've seen. So the LGBT activists of course buy into all the lefty bullshit, including hating Israel. But Israel is the only country is the middle east that has any gay rights. So how to square these two? Accuse the Jews of 'pinkwashing' to hide their treatment of Palestinians (who murder gays). That's right, even when Jews act nice to a group, that group will still find excuses to hate them.

Well, Leftists have always been hypocritical. Look at how much they decry capitalism and corporations but protect them, work for them and support them/fuel them. Or they hate science but won't give up their iphones.

That is hilarious. It is just so stupid, how is a religious symbol a hate symbol? What are these people smoking? Because I think Joe Rogan might be interested.

You don't seem to understand my point. If there were Jews advocating for such unpopular policies, then they'd give their entire group a bad name. That could be a reason for anti-Semitism.

Well, part of it is cynical partisanship. Liberal American Jews versus Conservative Israeli Jews. The same dynamic occurs with anti-Semitic attacks on religious Jews made by Black New Yorkers being covered up by liberals in the name of anti-racism.

Nah, Joe wants the good Kush and chronic, not the PCP/acid spiked shit that produces this sort insanity.

Of course, I forgot that though he partakes in mind altering substances he is still a man of culture and thus only wants to take the correct kind.

Caffeine is a 'mind altering substance', as is freaking spicy food.

I mean categorizing weed in with shit like PCP and acid is like Twitter labelling the Star of David as a 'hate symbol'.

Bet you didn't even know Israel is actually a big place for medicinal/medical pot, and Lebanon/Israel area is one of the oldest weed/hemp growing regions in the world. Heck, old Jewish priests used to anoint themselves using hemp oil.

There are degrees to this, Bacle. There are degrees to this.
