This is a pretty straightforward preservation of evidence directive, although this is a *very* preliminary order. Note that the judge hasn't actually ordered that the voting machine information must be shown to the plaintiff; he's ordered that the information must be *preserved* pending his actual decision in the matter, and that both sides must now move to the next step in the process, which is presenting the factual basis for their respective arguments.

That said, "Defendant does not have lawful authority to do what the plaintiff wants the court to order them to do" is a completely valid point, and one that is correctly handled by said amendment of the complaint to add the proper parties (exactly as the ruling itself says). It would be negligent of the defense to *not* make that point, however, as failing to do so would potentially put them in the position of being under court orders to take actions that they legally cannot.

By the way, how's life in that glass house of yours? Did you ever get the house warming present I got you; the full-sized mirror?

I'll be honest; I haven't agreed with many of the decisions Trump has made, but pretty much every person I've ever seen who considers him a "repugnant individual that inspires loathing", are projecting a lot of themselves onto him.

trump is kind of an ass, but he's not a complete monster, or even a monster at all just a guy who is rough around the edges and kind of an asshole. As presidents go he's probally less of a prick then LBJ was.
