I present the Army's absolute favorite CAS Warbird. The Army loves these so much we are willing to pay for maintenance of these of the airforce doesnt want to anymore

Only 34 Moskie's remain, and only 4 of those are flyable. So this is a very nice find, as those things look fairly well preserved.

From the looks of it, they'll just need some serious engine work, a wing inspection, and a new coat of paint...
Its a shame this got replaced by the f-22

From what I can understand, the -23 had worse stealth characteristics, was more able to be multi-role (and we all know how much hate the USAF has for anything not flying or working with the ground/sea), and had worse combat characteristics... but that was from an article whose name I've forgotten years ago...

The USAF keeps trying to kill the Army's best friend, the A-10, because it isn't what the Flyboys want, it is slow and controls like a flying tank, and you only operate as CAS. As an Army soldier, the A-10 is the best ground attack aircraft since the P-47.

The thing was, that article wasn't some USAF fighter mafia hit piece... from what I remember. From what I remember it was simply comparing the two and out of the two the F-22 was the better option and the various teen fighters will ensure that ground attack capability still exists.

While everyone makes the F-35 a bendogle, the thing was that the F-22 had similar problems with its programs...

Yeah but the F22 wasn't said to replace the A10. Kinda surprised people thought the 23 would be better tben the 22. It seems to be a lot better looking, but I can tell the aerodynamics are horrible

It makes Sailors and Marines sing in our original Klingon. And we all know how much Air Force Fighter Mafia Flyboys hate us Klingons. :p

The YF-23's stealth was better than the YF-22's. There were concerns with the YF-23's weapon bay, which carried missiles on two columns of 3, even though the Northrop/McDonnell's team was sure that even with an ejection failure, the aircraft would be able to bring the missile above it to firing position and launch it(I haven't looked at the patent drawings of the launch bay to know details). One thing that conspiracy theorists bring up a lot is that the YF-22 had subcontractors spread over more districts throughout the US than the YF-23.

EDIT: As for the A-10, of course the Army loves it - it's a CAS aircraft whose costs don't get paid by the Army budget. There's a reason why all proposals to transfer the A-10 to Army control go nowhere, and they don't have much to do with the Key West Accords - as things stand, to the Army, the A-10 is perfectly fine where it is right now.
