A total creep
I guess the argument that the SS can play praetorian guard is fair. just hope the dems are ready for the precedent that would set. if an R wins ever again we can use the SS to round up every D prez still around and charge em.
Yes, the Schutz Staffel would definitely do that!
:p

Well, the USA was partly modeled on Ancient Rome. And in Rome the Praetorian Guard having a say in the Electoral Process was a thing ... :D

The DA could only hand things over to a grand jury for it to be decided by them. Trump called attention to the DA making a political prosecution while ignoring the literal dumpster fire that is his actual responsibility. this reflects poorly on the DA and will reflect poorly on the grand jury if they go through with it.

Democrats really have forgotten that the law of retaliation is a thing.

It'd be nice if the Republicans had the balls to do some of that retaliation instead of acting like a controlled opposition.

The people who act like controlled opposition are being slowly but surely purged from leadership positions. This is a process that will likely take years. It might take decades, but it is happening. Honestly I'm surprised at how much progress we have already made I mean cheneys daughter is gone I thought she would be in the game for a few decades more.

BREAKING: Trump Indictment Set for Wednesday, Will be Told to Surrender

Former President Donald J. Trump will likely be indicted this Wednesday.

"The former president, who is currently in Florida, is expected to be formally charged tomorrow, after which the Manhattan District Attorney's office will reach out to Trump and his Secret Service detail to make arrangements for his surrender, according to the insider" according to the DailyMail. Trump will be finger-printed and have a mug shot taken as well.

However, according to the source, "there will be no arraignment this week."

An arraignment is a court proceeding where a defendant appears before a judge to hear the charges filed against them and to enter a plea, which is usually guilty or not guilty. During the arraignment, the judge also informs the defendant of their constitutional rights, such as the right to legal counsel, and sets the bail or conditions of release.

As a result "it's all-hands-on-deck for the New York Police Department and Metro Police Department."

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social "While Congress is at it, they should look at the Corrupt Attorney General of New York State, Letitia James, who got elected solely on a "I WILL GET TRUMP" platform, without knowing anything about me. She then brought a completely bogus lawsuit, which is presided over by an A.G. picked, Trump hating Judge, a political hack whose Court this case should not be in – It shoud be in the Commercial Division, but he wouldn't let go, is pushing it hard, and knows exactly what he wants to do…"

Trump continued, "The Chief Judge of New York State should remove this ridiculous case to the Commercial Division, where it belongs. Legal professionals are asking why this hasn't happened long ago? It is DISGRACEFUL!"

According to the DailyMail:

NYPD is the largest police department in the country, with roughly 36,000 current officers and 19,000 civilian employees. This week's memo suggests that all 36,000 officers are expected to be in uniform and on standby for deployment on Tuesday.
Many lawmakers and politicians on both sides of the aisle have said no one wants a repeat of January 6 – with Republicans claiming they don't expect the demonstrations to turn violent, but warned instead of a 'political circus' surrounding any potential indictment.
On Monday afternoon, the NYPD met with the U.S. Secret Service and the chief of public safety for state court officers with a decision to ramp up security around the courthouse starting Tuesday morning, a law enforcement official told DailyMail.com.
However, the source said the indictment is not expected until Wednesday, at the earliest, and that Trump likely wouldn't come to New York this week.
'They had their meeting and discussed a whole bunch of stuff about putting extra lighting out there, how they're going to put more barriers out there, and send their special response teams in,' the official said.
Many are disgruntled about the coming indictment on Trump. On Tuesday, Senator Rand Paul called for the arrest of New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg, who is leading the indictment proceedings.

"A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail," the Republican tweeted. Paul joins the voices of many who have slammed the indictment as a witch hunt and nothing more than a political ploy to smear Trump's 2024 campaign.

The report also states he will be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken.

I'm convinced that they know this will boost his polling, and they want to.

They're more scared of someone like DeSantis 2024 than Trump.

They know this will boost him. They want him to win the 2024 primary.

I refuse to believe they're this stupid, and it actually tracks with their recent strategy in the last 7-8 years or so.

No idea if this is true or not but…

Manhattan D.A. Accused of Hiding Hundreds of Pages of 'Exculpatory Evidence' from Grand Jury in Trump Case

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is being accused of hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence from the New York grand jury.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett on "Hannity" on Tuesday night accused Bragg of the prosecutorial misconduct and furthermore called for the disbarment of the attorneys involved in the travesty of justice.

"I mentioned it yesterday, I think, when Bob Costello got into that Grand Jury room and told them, 'Wait a minute. You don't have the hundreds of pages I handed over to Alvin Bragg over here? You only have six cherry-picked documents?' You know, hiding from grand juries exculpatory information is reprehensible and unconscionable," Jarrett said. "And the conduct of Alvin Bragg and his henchman Mark Pomeranz, who specifically says in his book, 'We're targeting zombies because we don't like his beliefs,' those guys should face disbarment proceedings."
Harvard Law Professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz added his perspective on the charges being brought by the Manhattan D.A.

"You know, in my new book, "Get Trump," I go through all of those four allegations and I say, there's plenty of smoke, but there's no fire," Dershowitz argued. "And if there were a fire, it would be set by arsonists."

"There is no crime committed in any of the four allegations, and I prove that categorically in my book "Get Trump," he added. "Where did I get the name? Get Trump. I got that from Letitia James' campaign slogan. Her campaign promise was, 'I promise you I will get Trump'."

"And I want to add something new that hasn't been said before," he continued. "I think that Bob Costello has changed this case dramatically. I think that Bragg note now only has two possible results from that. Number one, he can say, alright, 'I'm going to try to make the case without Cohen.' He cannot use Cohen as a witness anymore."

"That would be unethical because of the testimony that Costello gave," he went on. "Or he could say, 'Look, I have to drop the case.' He may not be able to make it without Cohen. But if he can't make it without Cohen, he can't make it, because no ethical prosecutor is allowed to put on as a witness, somebody who has told the lies and has contradicted himself so much."

"So I think that Bob Costello — it's a game changer," he added. "I think maybe that's a reason for the delay here. I think ethical experts are now telling Bragg, wait a minute, you cannot use Cohen. So if you can make it through Pecker, if you can make it through some of the other people, okay, go ahead. But if you can't make it without Cohen, you cannot bring this charge."

"That's a powerful statement," Sean Hannity remarked.
On Tuesday, a former legal adviser to Michael Cohen, attorney Robert Costello, was called as a key witness in the New York grand jury investigation into former President Donald Trump's alleged payment to adult actress Stormy Daniels. Costello claimed that testimony from the former Trump attorney is "far from solid evidence."

Costello told reporters following his testimony that Cohen is "totally unreliable" in the probe against Trump. He added that the disgraced lawyer is "a convicted perjurer."

"I'm the one who decided to do this. A lot of people cautioned me against it because I have nothing to gain. The only thing I'm doing is trying to tell the truth to the grand jurors because I read all these lies in the media that are being promoted by one side," said Costello. "If you see the full picture … If they want to go after Donald Trump and they have solid evidence, so be it."

"But Michael Cohen is far from solid evidence," added Costello. "This guy, by any prosectors' standard—and I used to be deputy chief of the criminal division in the Southern District of New York—I wouldn't have touched a guy like Michael Cohen, especially if he's a convicted perjurer."

As noted by the Epoch Times, Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to "charges of tax evasion, making false statements to a federally insured bank, and campaign finance violations in connection with an alleged $130,000 payment to a lawyer representing adult actress Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford."

"Cohen claims that Trump, during his 2016 presidential campaign, directed him to arrange the payment to Daniels as 'hush money' in order to buy her silence after she claimed to have had an affair with Trump," the report added. "The money was allegedly paid using campaign funds, a violation of campaign finance law."

Donald Trump is expected to face a potential indictment from the grand jury on Wednesday. The former president will reportedly turn himself in to authorities to face trial.

According to this, the final grand jury witness told the jurors that Bragg was hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence from them. Bragg is at risk of being charged with prosecutorial misconduct.

If true, the big question now seems to be is whether he'll cave to the pressure from his constituents to arrest Trump and end his own legal career, or listen to the DNCs warning that indicting Trump would be an unforced error.

No. when it comes to Trump they are that stupid. or crazy. or bloodlusted. for whatever reason Trump broke them and they are incapable of actually operating in a rational manner where he is concerned. this is both a good thing and a bad thing. they do not care about the consequences so long as they get the catharsis of finally being able to say they got him. even if just on a misdemeanor charge past the statute of limitations.

Easily the best thing I've seen about Trump and a potential arrest and what he should actually be arrested for (there's a pretty decent chance you'll likely agree):

yeah he got it right. won't happen because you would have to jail pretty much everyone in government. i think only south dakota did not lock down at all. so sure if you wanna go and arrest every governor, senator, representative, judge that enforced these rulings, and every expert that pushed this shit alongside him go for it.
