This subject is in flux right now, but here it goes: Bolsonaro's Economy Minister once(around 2020, IIRC) proposed a common currency between Brazil and Argentina. Back then, the idea was(rightfully, IMO) shouted down, and he never mentioned the subject again. Lula and PT brought this shit up again, with the enthusiastic support of Argentina(of course). Venezuela(again, of course) also expressed support for this nonsense.Good Morning @gral. Anything crazy happening in Brazil because I've heard about Lula trying to form some economic dollar shtick with Argentine President Alberto Fernandez in trying to dismantle the US Dollar.
After the outcry mentioning all the obvious problems with that idiocy, they are now saying that it would be used 'just in inter-country transactions'(initially between both countries, but it would certainly spread to other countries in South America). My hope is that they are forced to give up on this shit, but it's too early to tell what will happen.
